Welcome to Sandy Hill Beach House! Open the front doors to this stunning 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom beach house (which also has a 1 bedroom, 1 bath guest cottage) and you are greeted by breathtaking views of the turquoise and coral ocean filling the entire room!
We are located on the Banks Road, the most sought-after location on Eleuthera, a 3 minute drive from the beautiful and quaint town of Governors Harbour, where you will find everything from grocery stores, gas stations, coffee shops, liquor stores and restaurants which offer great views of picturesque Cupids Cay and the Caribbean. Here you can watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch or simply sit with a wine or coffee and watch the activity of this charming little village.
Sandy Hill is decorated in light neutral tones framed with antique wood beams, floor to ceiling custom antiqued wood, and white painted walls which bring the vibrant outdoor colours of the Caribbean to the inside. Floors throughout the home are covered in a beautiful sand coloured tumbled marble.
The main house is constructed in 3 pods each connected to the main living area by glass breezeways, allowing for quiet and privacy in the bedroom areas. The north and south pods (wings) of the house each contain a queen size bedroom with a TV, and a bunk room with a double bottom and single top bunk bed. Each of the two wings have a full bath, which the two bedrooms share. All bedrooms have large windows and sliding glass doors with incredible ocean views. They have high vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, and closets with shelves for easy storage of clothes, and access to a covered porch area with table and chairs. One bathroom has a bathtub with shower and the other a full shower. Both bathrooms have custom made vanities and mirrors, and are bright and modern.
The central pod is the main area. It features partial high-vaulted ceilings constructed in wood, and offers a very cozy living space with wall-to-wall glass doors overlooking the ocean. The kitchen has a large island and bar stools and is fully equipped with all the necessities you will find at home. The dining table seats 10 comfortably and is strategically placed so all guests have an ocean view. The sitting room has cozy over-sized sofa and chairs and wall TV. Soft carpeting gives a luxurious feel when relaxing in this area. This area also has a powder room with a washer/dryer.
Above the living area is the upstairs master bedroom, which has a king size bed. The master features a balcony with panoramic views up and down the beach and a beautiful sunny en suite bathroom with large shower.
The laundry room with new stackable washer and dryer holds all laundry necessities. This room also has cabinets for storage, a bathroom area, and a built in wall safe with key or code entry for safe keeping of valuables. We now have superfast Starlink internet!
The one bedroom guest cottage is located on the west side of the house, and features a queen bed and full bath with shower. It is available for an additional charge of $1400 per week, which also pays for 2 extra guests.
Sandy Hill Beach House's large and magnificent outdoor area has a covered patio with a dining area and gas grill, also in tumbled marble continued from the interior, with steps down to a large custom-built cedar deck, comfortable sitting area with sofas, tables and lounges. This outdoor area is set on top of the dune with spectacular views of the ocean and pink sand beach below. A stunning infinity pool which appears to spilling down the sandy hill into the water below will keep you cool and refreshed. The pool can be heated for an optional fee of $600/week. An outdoor shower with hot and cold water is provided.
Custom built wooden steps from the outdoor area lead down to the ocean and miles of pink sand. Enjoy our two sea kayaks! A five-minute walk down the beach will bring you to famous Tippy's restaurant and beach bar.
Rates are for up to 8 guests. Add $525/week for each additional guest.

Summary: Very nice house, beach, pool, views. The only thing Iโ€™d add is bring your own music as thereโ€™s no way to have it outside on the deck or pool area. The house has a lot of things ( individual AC units, lots of fans ) that arenโ€™t easy to figure out, it would be nice if the housekeeper went through it with us to save time and frustration. Owner and manager are very nice.

The house, with its separated sleeping areas, worked well for our multi generational family. The location was excellent, quiet but with easy access to town and Tippyโ€™s. Having the pool meant that even on windy days the kids could play and swim. We plan on coming back.

The house is well appointed (lots of pool toys, spices, dishes etc.) Many places to enjoy the outside. Very nice furniture. We had Sheryl cook a Bahamaian dinner. Delicious We pre-ordered groceries to get us started and I highly recommend. The beach in front is heaven. You won't be sorry with this home.

Summary: The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our family of 12. It is in the perfect location over looking the ocean with a soft pale pink sand beach just down the steps. We were near to many restaurants in Governor's Harbor, but the house also had everything we needed to make our own meals. What really put our stay over the top was the wonderful care taker of the house Sherri. She not only made us a fantastic seafood dinner, but she was prompt with helping us with recommendations for the island. She even helped me learn more about my family from the island. This made our stay exceptional. I highly recommend staying here, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The beach is down a bit of a hill and stairs which may challenge some but the pool is great too. Sherry coordinated transportation and cooked us a wonderful meal one night. Denise was also responsive. Tippyโ€™s just down the road is a good option for meals.Our group of 8 really enjoyed riding side-by-sides to see the lighthouse; good, fun time.

Summary: This home is truly as lovely as others have said. Since they've already said that, I'll fill in some details about questions we had prior to leaving home. We had 14 in our family, six school-age kids, eight adults. We followed Matt's suggestion that we ask The Market Place grocery store (like an old-time IGA and 45 minutes away) to pre-stock a few days of food for us. The online process is very simple. The store concierge will call you with any questions she has about your order. In the comment section, you can request things you don't see on the website. They might have them. Pre-stocking the food was a huge help! We arrived hungry late in the day. Kids didn't want to travel one more minute. They needed to play/swim, not sit in restaurant chairs. The house has a filled spice rack and has soap/tissue in all the bathrooms. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner. You may --may!-- also find some other helpful "left-behinds" like baggies, foil, cooking oil, sugar, laundry soap, and sunscreen/bug spray. We used up many of the odd ends of bug spray, then left one of our own. For folks with food allergies/sensitivities: Market Place and Burrows (the tiny local grocery store) both carry gluten-free pasta. Neither has GF waffles or baked products. Neither had any nut butters besides peanut. Both had non-dairy "milks" (almond/soy). The welcome materials say it's safe to drink the water if you're staying in a house on the municipal water line, but doesn't say if Sandy Hills is on the line. The blue pipes in the front yard indicate that it is on the municipal water line and the owner confirmed it for us. So we stopped cooking with bottled water and used the ice the freezer makes. There are classic games (like bingo), cards, and a puzzle or two in the ottoman. There are a few life jackets and some snorkel gear in the bin on the deck. More can be rented/purchased in town. Bring your water shoes. The local prices for those are very high. Overall-Wonderful!
