The Creekside Cottage is a newly renovated, modern two-story vacation home situated on a park-like, six-acre oceanfront property known as the Seaward Estate. Historically, Seaward was one of five salmon trap sites along the Juan de Fuca Strait until the 1950s.
Seaward offers a variety of stunning natural landscapes, including two beaches with thousands of feet of picturesque coastline, West Coast forest, and woodland trails. It remains one of the most exceptional oceanfront properties in the Greater Victoria Region. With real estate values steadily increasing over the past two decades, many high-quality oceanfront properties have been subdivided and redeveloped. A large, original oceanfront estate like Seaward—preserved in its natural beauty and historical integrity—is truly rare.
The Creekside Cottage is located beside a small, natural creek and offers over 1,400 square feet of living space. The main floor features an open-concept layout with a living room, dining area, and kitchen. A south-facing wall of floor-to-ceiling windows provides breathtaking views of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains. A cozy patio offers outdoor seating, a dining table, and a BBQ for guests to enjoy.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The first is a loft-style room with a king-size bed, open to the living space below, with windows facing south directly toward the ocean. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and three windows—one facing south toward the ocean and the other two overlooking the gardens and ocean to the west. A full bathroom with laundry facilities is located on the second floor, and a powder room is available on the main floor. Additionally, a small attic space accessible from the second bedroom provides the perfect hideaway for young children. A sofa bed in the living room offers extra sleeping accommodations.
A beach house on East Beach provides a place for children to play and adults to relax. Naturally, guests love spending time on the beaches. The East Beach features a flatter, pebbled surface, ideal for walking, while the West Beach offers giant rocks, hidden coves, and secret spots perfect for adventure. Many guests enjoy exploring the forest trails. Benches at the end of the Sunset Trail and Otter Trail are perfect for reading, wildlife watching, or enjoying a sunset. Others like to plan a picnic—whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner—on the picnic deck at the end of the Orca Trail.

Creekside Cottage is about 50 feet from Rowan Cottage and 200 feet from Rose Cottage. All cottages are oriented with windows facing the ocean. Summary: Just what we were looking for. Hearing the bubbling creek, waves rolling over the rocks on the beach, great A-frame cabin (all the comforts), loved the arts and crafts/lounging beach house that was accessible, great property to explore, wildlife sightings. This is a hidden gem!

Summary: The property is very well kept and we weren't disappointed. Kristi the property manager went out of her way to assist, during a weather related power outage our first 24 hours. She helped with an endless supply of wood to use in the woodstove and recommended local dining establishments that we enjoyed. This was a perfect home base to explore many of the hiking trails in the area. There were many seating areas to enjoy the setting sun and watch the sea lions and eagles. We loved it so much that we have booked again for next year.

Summary: This property and house is spectacular! The location, views, open space, trails, beach are what makes this an experience not to be missed. The wildlife (seals, sea lions, eagles, otters, bear, etc) viewable from the property was exactly what we were looking for. The house was modern, clean, and comfortable. Two things to consider: 1. There are two other houses on the same property that are closer together than I realized on the site so it’s not quite as private as I expected 2. The primary bedroom is an open loft with a shared bathroom with the 2nd bedroom so the privacy within the house is not as private as I was originally expecting I highly recommend this listing as a destination on Vancouver Island because unless you own your own home on the island, I doubt you’re going to find many other rentals that are going to give you the experience this home provides.

Summary: We were delighted to see whales many times during our 4 night stay at Creekside. This property is perfect to view all the activity in the ocean from, and the grounds are stunning and beautifully kept, with lots of little sitting areas. On our last night there we saw the most stunning sunset we've ever seen! There are 3 cottages and our family stayed in 2 of them. Creekside is the more modern of the 3 and, although it was lovely, we prefer a more cozy one. If you like ultra modern and sleek, then I would recommend this one. The cottages are all very privately located from each other. We will be back to stay at Rowan Cottage, which is more suited to us and also has the best views. Ray was kind enough to show it to us in between guests, and we really enjoyed talking with him. All in all, one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in on the West Coast.
