Positive: Very comfortable apartment with a beautiful view on the mountains. The free bikes are a big plus to visit the beautiful surroundings and shop at the farmers market nearby. The host are super friendly.

Positive: Beautiful house in a peaceful town. The house has a very comfortable and completely private upstairs that is very big. There’s a living room with beautiful tatami and a lovely view. The bedroom is fitted with comfortable western beds, a balcony and a projector for watching TV. There is a private bathroom. There is a lovely walk over the river just a few steps away. It is so wonderful to rent the bicycles for free and cycle around the quiet little town.

Positive: Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly, despite our being dirty and wet having just completed the Kohechi trail on the Kumano Kodo that day. It was great to have access to the kitchen, the house was spotlessly clean, good facilities, washer and dryer. The surrounding mountains and river would have been beautiful to explore if we’d had the time, I imagine bike riding along the river would be very picturesque.
Negative: The distance from Koyasan was far, close to two hours, and although I should have researched this myself, it would be nice to see this reflected in the accommodation description. It would be ideal to place more emphasis on the local areas attractions and activities. Curtains over the bed heads would also be helpful as sunrise was early and the room very bright.
Summary: Really lovely hosts, good facilities, clean, comfortable accommodation.

Positive: The owner was very friendly and spoke English well. The place was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Quiet and private. Close to the train station.
Negative: Not quite as convenient for visiting Koyasan as I had expected. Going there it was about 1.5 hours, and coming back, with train connections, it was over two hours. Probably convenient if you have a car, but if you’re relying on public transport less so.

Positive: FANTASTIC PLACE! The owners are such a wonderful, helpful young couple who were communicative and kind, and you really do feel like you get so much space and value for money! They even offered to keep our luggage while we went stayed the night in Koyasan. Could not recommend more highly. (We particularly loved the projector!)

Positive: Own comfortable private floor upstairs. Included: dining room with a mini fridge, toilet and bedroom with two single beds and an AC. Beds were hardish in a very good way, felt well rested in the morning. Shared bathroom and kitchen downstairs. Everything was perfectly clean and working as they should. Hosts were exceptionally caring. We missed our train station and they came and picked us up from 4km away with their car without us asking. Nice couple, showed us the apartment and gave us clear instructions on everything. Pro tip if you are walking to Koyasan from Jison-In: ask the hosts to order you a taxi beforehand for the morning. Trip from this accommodation to Jison-in was less than 10mins with a taxi and cost us 1600 yen.
