Summary: A lovely fully renovated old cottage in a stunning lochside location with great views and garden. Very peaceful and relaxing but only a few minutes drive from Lochcarron which has great local shops, cafes, pubs etc. Loads of great walks and scenic days out on the doorstep - The Isle of Skye is only 45 mins away and not to be missed! The cottage is comfortably furnished and well maintained with a modern bathroom, decent Wifi, smart TV and a lovely logburner. There was also good mobile 4G signal on Three mobile for us as well as Wifi. The owner was very helpful and responsive with any questions. Overall a great place to stay!

Summary: Lovely location a semidetached cottage and we had the smaller of the two, living room was a bit dark but was nice, not enough plug sockets for our liking but we have a lot of electrical equipment, the staircase is in need of some attention very noisy and one step higher than the rest, but having said all that it was a lovely 2 weeks and all the faults were only minor inconveniences so only a 4 out of 5 a good holiday

Summary: We had a wonderful week at Park Cottage on the outskirts of Lochcarron. It was a beautiful sunshine week except for the day we arrived which was absolutely pouring. Straight across from the house down a hacked out pathway you can get to a pebble beach that has a picturesque wreck. Further up the road in the opposite direction from the village you can get to a lovely little pier to swim from and even further up the road there is a wonderful pebble beach hidden from the road that drops off quickly into deeper water and at high tide doesn't have any seaweed. We did a few day trips through to Skye and also did the most stunning drive across the Bealach na Ba to Applecross which I would highly recommend!! Patricia the host is wonderful and answers quickly to any queries. The cottage was lovely and clean. It is not made clear on the site that the cottage is actually adjacent to the main house. The photo of the outside shows the house and the cottage and we thought we would have the whole property. The family who was in the other property was lovely but you could see they also weren't expecting to see other people there and to 'share' the outside space during such a lovely week. The heating is controlled by the people in the other property although there is a booster to the heating in the cupboard upstairs. We didn't find the folder with information on the heating until the 3rd day in when we went through the stack of brochures under the TV console as we already had our week planned and didn't watch any TV. It could have been left out on the table to be easily accessible. Overall we had a wonderful time and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that part of the world! Thank you Patricia.

Summary: The cottage was warm, comfortable and beautifully siutated. It is quite remote and mobile 4g works only on some phones. not on others. The place was very clean, beautiful new bathroom and well equipped kitchen. (Except for good sharp knives, and basic washing up cloths, dishwasher tablets and washing powder, which were all sorely lacking). The fire alarm is very sensitive and goes off if the bathroom door is opened after a shower or the kitchen when something is roasting in the oven. Can be avoided if windows are opened and the rooms aired, but when it was pouring outside this was impossible and the alarm became quite frustrating, Our major problem was that the windows in the downstairs are all Velox, too high to open without standing on a chair and even then only the taller memeber of our party could open and close the windows in the bedroom and kitchen. no pole was provided. This also meant that in rain these rooms could not be ventalated, and no midge nets so windows had to be shut in the evening too. Comminication with the property owner was good in that they answered the phone number provided and were helpful and efficient in solving our probelms on arrival (the window in the downstairs bedroom had been left open an the carpet and one bed were sodden). However, there was no follow up to check up on the issue (which impacted on our stay significatly). Instructions for the house and the utilities were also insufficient, (We discovered the manual for the washing macjine by chance). We enjoyed our stay nevertheless, the house is comfortable an warm, but needs attention to detail such as the pole for the velow windows, and vis a vis the kitchen equipment, and in general more detailed instructions were needed (eg the bathroom heater we could not turn off which in hot weather would have been very unpleasant). The surrounds are very beautiful with easy access to cycling, walking, swimming and the village is three miles down the road with a post offfice ad well stocked supermarket,

Summary: This small but perfectly formed accommodation provides the perfect place to stay overlooking Lochcarron. The villages around Lochcarron provide several excellent places to eat, with the Spa providing a good range of produce. Lochcarron is in a good position for exploring both Skye and Wester Ross although be prepared for long drives as the roads are slow. We will definitely return to this area and consider this property again.

Summary: The location was wonderfully rural, the loch views and surrounding hills spectacular. The house and gardens lovely. The beds we used were comfy. The heating system is reliant and operated from the ajoining house which was fine at this time of the year, as the weather was nice. I had not realized the cottage was joined onto another letting property , (maybe this should be clearer) therefore there was some noise we hadn't expected. One set of bedding on a single bed needed replaced. (We didn't use that bed ) However, the rest of the holiday and the comfort was really nice.

Summary: A well maintained property in a very quiet rural location. Ideal base for walkers and nature lovers. Good local bistros. Lots of parking space. Property is joined to another holiday cottage. The heating for both properties is provided by 1 boiler in the adjoining property, but you can heat your own hot water if necessary and there is a lovely large wood burning stove. We didn't have any problems with this arrangement. Property name is not visible from the road, you need to go through the gate and look at the bottom of the door to see it. I would happily stay here again.

Summary: We loved our week's stay in Park House. It was everything we hoped it would be. The house was spotless, warm and very comfortably furnished. The kitchen had all amenities and was very well equipped with crockery, utensils, cookware, pans etc. Nothing had been forgotten. The beds were comfortable and the rooms light and airy. But really it was all about the view (better than the photos!) The terrace runs across the front of both rental properties and provides the most stunning, elevated view of the loch. From morning till night, it was an absolute pleasure to gaze over it and hear nothing but birdsong and the occasional bleat of a sheep. Even when indoors the windows still provided that fabulous view. Lochcarron village is three miles along the shore and provides a few cafes and pub dining, a shop etc. We enjoyed trips to Skye, The beautiful Kyle of Lochalsh and, our favourite, Plockton which is a tiny village about 40 minutes drive away. We booked a cruise online with Callum's Seal Trips - it leaves several times daily from Plockton - and was a great way to see the loch and plenty of seals. Another highlight was our visit to nearby Atterdale Gardens - well worth a visit with such an amazing range of plants, vistas, natural woodland and ornamental gardens. Strathcarron train station is about 5 miles away - the trains are a great way of sightseeing as they run along the edge of the loch and provide lots of great views. Our host Patricia left us to enjoy the peace and tranquility, but was easy to reach by phone or text whenever we had any queries. Altogether a lovely and very welcome break!

Summary: Excellent situation. Cottage was comfortable, quite well equipped. The walk-in shower was impressive but the shower itself did not live up to expectations. Overall very good value and experience.
