3 Bedroom House in Keene, North Garden

This historic home (originally built in 1805) is located on a working horse farm just south of Charlottesville. It was recently restored in 2007 and updated to keep the historic, yet cozy cabin-esque feel, with all of the modern amenities. All of the wood used throughout the restoration (from kitchen cabinets to porch floor) is sourced right from Quiet Entry Farm and milled from the sawmill located up the hill from the house.
Quarry House is one level with 3 bedrooms consisting of two queen beds, a king bed and 2 full bathrooms. The "new" wing of the home contains a master king bedroom and queen bedroom with a shared full bath with walk-in shower splitting the two rooms. The other wing contains a queen bedroom with fireplace (decorative only) and a shared full bathroom with a walk in shower. Splitting the two wings is a fully stocked kitchen with all the cookware and appliances you'll need and a living room containing a fireplace, flat screen tv and ample seating to enjoy each other's company.
A screened-in porch, off of the living room, is a wonderful spot to enjoy your morning coffee (provided) or evening glass of wine while gazing out over the pond behind the house. The porch leads out to a fenced in backyard (perfect for your four legged friends) containing a fire pit with Adirondack chairs, well manicured lawn and beautiful gardens surrounding the house. A horseshoe pit is also available for use near the entrance of the house.
Guests have access to certain parts of the farm, including viewing of a soapstone quarry on the property, another pond for fishing and a 1500 tree truffle operation that will be in full production within 5 years.
Quarry House is the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy a true Virginia country side experience.

Summary: We had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful home and amenities on this property. Highly recommend for a friend weekend. Lots to do with wineries and Charlottesville but most importantly the relaxing space of this home!

Summary: Our recent stay marks our 3rd visit to the Quarry House. This home is so special to us, largely in part to the care and attention it has been given. It blends historic character, modern luxury and the cozy comforts of a cabin stay. The home is peacefully nestled within a working horse farm, yet still close to many area attractions. The owners are so kind and accommodating. The home is well stocked with all the kitchen and bath essentials and very clean. The attention to detail is next level. We can't wait to visit again.

Summary: We had the most wonderful stay at the Quarry House. Everything was far better than we could have even hoped. The cottage was so charming and well stocked. The hosts had left us a turkey roasting pan and fresh herbs in the kitchen so that we would be prepared to cook a Thanksgiving meal. The animals on the farm felt so magical to me. There was AMPLE firewood for indoor and outdoor fires, so we enjoyed lots of evening time out by the fire pit. We just loved everything about the whole experience. We will most definitely be back.

Summary: What a great little gem. Traveled to the area so our daughter could take a tour of UVA (which she loved). But our VRBO really made the weekend!! We were a group of 5- my mother in law (age 82), my hubby and I (late 40s), 15 year old and 8 year old daughters. The house has such fantastic character tucked in amongst horse farms. We saw so many stars at night, taught our 8 year old how to play croquet and horseshoes, played family scrabble in front of a roaring fire at night. Beds were super comfy. We loved the steam shower!! We forgot our shampoo so we’re delighted to see the travel toiletries were provided. Kitchen well stocked (bring ground coffee beans for coffee maker; no filters needed). Truly an amazing time for all. 30 min from Monticello.

Summary: Stayed with family at this lovely location for a wedding at local venue Pippin Winery. Was beautiful weekend at the home was as listed, very cozy and clean!. Went to Dr. Ho's Humble Pie restaurant for a couple meals, and everything was delicious. Would recommend this area for visiting and the Quarry house for accommodations.

Summary: Our family had an amazing time staying at this house! We enjoyed the large backyard with fire pit and playing croquette. There’s a pretty view from the backyard and it was our favorite part of the property. We would absolutely stay again. One thing to note is that there is a protective dog at a nearby house/farm. My 4 kids and I walked up the road to see the horses but the dog clearly was not letting that happen. It frightened us since it was very close and intimidating. I talked to the owner afterward who said the dog was harmless and will go away if you firmly give a command. There was no way that dog would’ve obeyed me!😂 Just think others should be aware and prepared. The dog also followed our car up the road (along its property) barking right beside our car the whole time.

Summary: We came to watch Field Hockey at Liberty and UVA. Great location. The house was super clean, beautifully decorated, and most welcoming to all our guests- both the 2 legged ones and 4 legged ones!

Summary: My family and I had a truly amazing stay at this historic cabin. We were in need of some respite and this place delivered. Nestled behind a pond on a horse farm, this cabin delivered the tranquility we were all looking for. Our dog, Lily, enjoyed the fenced in yard. Having the front and backyard fences was wonderful for her. My kids brought their toy baseball set and we had a great time playing in the yard together as a family. We saw hunmingbirds, horses, a donkey, and even heard some other animals at night. The screened porch was our favorite hang out spot. The history had me in awe the entire visit. If you’re looking to escape from it all and enjoy some quiet in the beauty of the Virginia Mountains, this is where you want to go! Property manager was also *very* responsive and so helpful! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
