Positive: Great seaside location and good pool, at tentative friendly staff
Negative: It was my wife’s birthday and we were expecting a wonderful dinner at the quite pricey restaurant but were severely disappointed. My wife only ate a small portion of her poorly presented and very plain scallops while my beef was very stringy. The breakfast buffet though was excellent with many choices.
Summary: Enjoy the facilities but avoid a la carte dining

Positive: The Ramayana is an absolute slice of paradise. Located right on the ocean you can hear the waves crash and the birds sing. I had a junior suite which was extremely spacious, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean. My bed was so comfortable - like sleeping on a cloud. The pool area has lots of sun lounges and the pool itself was clean and inviting. We spent a lot of time swimming there. The restaurant was fabulous. We ate all our meals here. A delicious, fresh buffet breakfast every morning and yummy dinners too. All served at a table with a stunning view over the sea. We also appreciated the complimentary afternoon tea which was tasty and generous. The spa is one of the most beautiful I have been to Bali. I had four treatments here and they were all wonderful. The staff were gorgeous and my massages and facial left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The whole ambiance of the Ramayana leaves you feeling peaceful and relaxed. Koi fish filled pools along the paths, lush gardens, high ceiling pavilions and water fountains abound. The Ramayana’s greatest signature is the staff. They are all so welcoming and friendly. They always took time to say hello and many actually called me by my name. This was so touching in a world of tourism which can be quite impersonal these days. The Ramayana is an amazing hotel with a lovely, authentic Balinese welcome. This was my first trip but it definitely won’t be my last. Thank you to all the staff. We’ll be back next year.

Positive: We loved being right on the beach. It was amazing watching it change.....stormy and calm. The staff were amazing - friendly and super helpful. It was super relaxing and easy to access the surrounding areas with a driver. We enjoyed all meals we had at the restaurant
Negative: The only negative was that it was some distance from the centre of town. Although the hotel supplied a shuttle bus it would have been nice to have a bit more freedom to come and go rather than rely on the bus
