This beautifully restored and modernized estate home of the late Sir Roland Symonette, first Premier of the Bahamas, retains its original elegance while enjoying modern comforts and conveniences. Hearts Ease, as Sir Roland named it, sits on a hill above a beautiful pink-sand beach. Hearts Ease enjoys spectacular 50-mile, 180-degree views of the beach and ocean below. It's a short 100-yard walk down the hill to the beach.
At the entrance of the villa, you are greeted by three sets of French doors that open into a vast Great Room looking out over the ocean. The 16 foot ceilings, lovingly restored paneled walls, fireplace, and antique chandeliers combine with the views to make a stunning first impression. To the right is the Master Bedroom with private deck, large en suite bath and queen-size canopy bed, a spacious and delightful room.
To the left of the Great Room is the kitchen, fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and sliding glass doors to the patio. In addition to the Master Suite, Hearts Ease has two guest bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. Each guest bedroom has access to a private outdoor sitting area, closet, and queen bed. Hearts Ease has a powder room convenient to the Great Room, and a large and fully equipped laundry room with washer and dryer.
The extensive outdoor living space includes a large screened porch, a beautiful low-walled patio of the same size, and a rooftop deck, all with spectacular ocean views. A gas grill is available for outdoor cooking. After a day on the beach, enjoy our private outdoor shower. Heart Ease is beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers, palm trees, and fruit and nut trees.
Hearts Ease is just 50 yards from a large and lovely pool shared with several other homes. Just past it is our pink sand beach. A short walk down the beach takes you to Sky Beach Club's excellent restaurant and bar, which has poolside service all day long. Other nearby fine dining includes Cocodimama, five minutes by car, and Tippys, 10 minutes away. The picturesque town of Governors Harbour, less then three miles away, has 19th century homes and churches, grocery stores, banks with ATMs, gift shops, liquor stores, dive shop, bakery, restaurants, and a restored historic library.
Hearts Ease is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Amenities include air conditioning throughout, WIFI, landline phone, smart TV, DVD player with video library, stereo system with CD player, video games, library of books, board games, children's toys, beach chairs, beach umbrella and beach towels. For babies we have a crib and high chair.

Reviewer Comments: We loved so many things about this house - the screened in porch facing the ocean, the proximity to the fabulous beach which we had to ourselves much of the time, plenty of beach towels and chairs/umbrellas that were in good condition... Our disappointment was that the air conditioning in the kitchen/2nd and 3rd bedroom side of the house was not working when we arrived, and even after repeated phone calls to Brenda (who seems like a lovely woman and she was trying) and the a/c repair guy Dwayne, it never got resolved. It took until Tuesday for Dwayne to diagnose the issue (bad compressor), and then he was unable to locate a replacement on the island - we assume, because he never would respond to daily phone calls asking for an update. The power went out several times, and something that would have been helpful is some battery operated lanterns/lights instead of just some votive candles. All in all though, we had a great week in Eleuthera with the friendly island people, and look forward to a return trip!

It has everything you need and is in a perfect location as it's only a few minutes' drive to Governor's Harbor. The views from the roof top are breathtaking and my favorite spot for early morning coffee and sunset cocktails. There was everything you needed for the beach: chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, snorkel gear, a large cooler and tons of beach towels. We enjoyed the pool as much as we did the beach and had it all to ourselves except for one hour the entire week. It is a saltwater pool so much better than chlorine. We had one issue with the wifi but it was fixed very quickly and worked perfectly the entire week. There was a good supply of drinking water provided as well as everything we needed to cook several meals. Don't miss the Friday night fish fry in Governor's Harbor. We loved dinner with live music on Wednesday at Tippy's right on the beach. Our favorite restaurant was Bucaneer on a back street in Governor's Harbor. The food was amazing with ice cream right next door! The best place for wine, beer and liquor is Bristol Wine and Spirits. Cheaper than other spots we tried and a much much better selection of everything! They also hooked us up with an amazing lunch made by a local woman out of her house that was delicious! My favorite Carribean beach was Receiver's Beach right below the was shallow and almost deserted with the most stunning colors of blue and teal you will ever see. I'd stay in this home again and was relaxed luxury at its finest! Being steps to the pool and the beach without paying for a private pool or paying to be beach front made it the perfect spot! It truly is a beautiful, private home in the perfect location with every amenity you could ask for! Thank you to all the amazing people at Eleuthera Vacation Rentals for all you did to make our week one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in a long time!

Summary: This is the 2nd time we have rented Hearts Ease. We love the house- its decor, 3 en suite bedrooms,proximity to beach, pool and town. Brenda is super responsive and a real delight to have as the house manager/contact. We did have several power outages during our stay- and could not find the flashlights. Hope to be back soon!

Summary: Our family visited this island for the first time for a spring break trip. The home is stunning and yet still warm and cozy. They had everything we needed from beach towels to cooking spices, to games & decks of cards. The morning was my favorite. Grab a cup of coffee from the screened in porch overlooking the ocean. There is no better way to wake up each day. My adult & teenager-kids loved the pool, short walk to the beach, and eating lunch a walk away at Pascals. It is an amazingly quiet neighborhood with manicured lawns and gardens. Convenient location for a short drive to Governors Harbor. We loved our stay and made lasting memories as a family!

We were two adults and two teenagers and the house suited us perfectly. We did not take advantage of the beach as much here as we did other places and didn't find the beach club appealing (people were rude - only time we encountered that during our stay), but that may have just been the time we went. Highly recommend this house and it's location so close to Governor's Harbor.

The only negative experience was the third bedroom was tiny and didn't have a dresser to put your clothes in. Had to live out of our suitcase. Also all 3 bedrooms had queen size beds.

Reviewer Comments: Really great house for our party of four, far better than the houses in Sky Club and you have the same access to Pascal's where the food is actually really good. Great access to very private beach and close to Twin Coves beach for good snorkeling. The area is quite secluded which for us with Covid raging in Florida was a plus. House support staff is excellent.

We explored the island and found some great snorkeling spots. This property comes with our highest recommendations.
