Our 4 Bedroom, 7 Bathroom home, perched high above the Animas Valley surrounded by Ponderosa Pines on 35 acres, offers the privacy and seclusion you're looking for in your Colorado vacation. You will be stunned by the breathtaking views out each window, generous one-of-a-kind woodwork, and stunning rock fireplaces. This meticulously designed property is a work of art with no detail missed!

PETS: This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.
AREA: Located approximately 15 miles from downtown Durango, 15 miles to Bayfield, 25 miles to Lake Vallecito, and 40 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort, this luxury home is the perfect base camp to explore all southwest Colorado has to offer. Our home features multiple living areas inside and out, a gourmet kitchen, an outdoor hot tub on the master bedroom deck, indoor heated saltwater pools, theatre room with game table and bar, two wood-burning fireplaces, dedicated office space, outdoor bar and grill area with fire pit. There is also a horseshoe area outside, which is the starting point of the private hiking trail on this 35-acre parcel. It's an amazing location for a true family get-away! With expansive views to the South and optimal access to hiking, mountain biking, skiing, Mesa Verde, and the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train, you won't want to miss the opportunity to stay in this rare find!
COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
NOTES:
There are ring cameras in a few outdoor spaces for security purposes.
In winter (November through April), 4WD is required. It is NECESSARY that you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

I cant say enough about the entire VRC team. we had a very minor issue with the spa and other simple questions and The VRC Team was OUTSTANDING !! Thank you to Anna ...Andy.. Mackey ... and Erika. I apologise if I left anyone out. Everyone was not only professional, but pleasant and understanding ! You made feel like it was not an imposition to call, but were sincerely glad to help ... However, it does not have AC which is a problem during July. The management company will tell you that it rarely gets above 8o degrees during the summer. Although this may be true; all I know is my room was rarely below 80 degrees during my stay which made for uncomfortable sleepless nights.

Summary: This home is as described in the listing. The views are very nice from the deck. While we were there, we saw deer and a flock of wild turkeys. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Just an item worth mentioning, there are a few stairs going to the master bedroom on the main floor.

Nestled in the woods high above Durango, the views are spectacular. We loved the spacious kitchen with the large island, perfect for communal cooking and gathering. In the morning and evening, we walked the dirt trails that weave through the peaceful forest surrounding the house, twice spotting an enormous mule buck and a rafter of wild turkeys. The bedrooms are all roomy, with plenty of natural light and a nice-sized adjoining bathroom. The media room was great for watching late-night movies. We would stay there again, and probably will. We had a bit of an issue with the hot tub, but Dillon promptly resolved it.

In our group we had 4 adults and 6 kids ranging from 19 to 7. The communication from the staff was great, they made sure everything was perfect for us. This is one of only houses on our vacations that we had no reason to leave the house. Thank you for an amazing family vacation!
