If you are looking for a spacious home with comfortable and abundant indoor and outdoor seating, a vast backyard with gorgeous views of the Hudson River, top of the line cooking appliances and an outdoor chef's kitchen in a home that was fully renovated and has made unforgettable memories for so many wonderful families and groups, you have found what you are looking for!
The Hudson Hideaway is an inviting 8 Bedroom home that includes 2 Living rooms, a cozy zen den, a 1200 Sq foot game room with karaoke stage, Large therapeutic hot tub, Private beach with a 55-foot dock, swimming pool, pool spa, tanning ledge and a large pavilion with a roof to cover a full outdoor chef's kitchen and bar. AND COMING AT THE END OF JUNE 2024 - a private pickleball court!
The pavilion has a large wood fireplace and seating area that is available for year round use. In the warmer months, the pool area has a full bathroom and ice machine.
Use our 55-foot private dock to attach your own private watercraft, catch some fish, or just chill in the sun.
Soak yourself in our 9-person therapeutic spa. Have a PIZZA NIGHT and make your favorite pizzas in the outdoor ALFA ONE pizza oven which is always a great bonding experience with family, friends and co-workers.
Enjoy the inside gourmet kitchen ready to serve large groups which includes a Double Oven and Thermador Gas Range top.
The game room offers dual basketball challenge, air hockey, ping pong, pool table, poker table, foosball and a karaoke stage with a Karafun Karaoke system! Plenty of strobe lights, stage lights and DJ Lighting to set whatever mood you desire. Outdoor activities include volleyball, pickleball (June 2024) kayaking, horseshoes, batting cage, a Swingsesh swingset ( a child's playset that doubles as an adult fitness station)Cornhole, Tetherball and so much more.
Enjoy YOUTUBE-TV on all TV'S inside and outside the home. The game room, living room, all 8 bedrooms and outside areas have TV's. There are two 85-inch outdoor TV's by the fireplace and seating area under the porch.
Ski at Hunter Mountain or Wyndham, an average 40-minute drive from the home.
After a full day at the slopes, come back and soak in the hot tub. Nothing better than the large open view of the Hudson River, the star filled sky, and a snow filled 3.5 acre back yard while sitting in the spa.
There are two Wilderness Pungo 120 Kayaks at the home for your use.

*PLEASE NOTE - the house is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, The owners, neighbors and local law enforcement will not tolerate gatherings that do not follow the Town laws with loud noise, unruly behavior or disrespect of people and property. Due to past renters not following the guidelines, we will not rent to adult only groups under the age of 30. We understand the need to get away with friends for a weekend of partying, however this is not the location for those parties.
This is a smoke free and pet free home.
Our home is located a short distance from many ski resorts, hiking trails and golf courses as well as many local farms, wineries and orchards where you can pick your own produce or take a hay ride. If its shopping malls you want, the Albany Crossgates Mall is just a 25 minute drive away. Hudson, Catskill, and Woodstock are great towns for a day visit and just a short drive away.

Summary: W had a birthday party for my fiancé this past weekend at Jody’s Hudson Hideaway and we had the best time! The house and property is amazing and everything is top notch. Highly recommend this place!!!

Summary: Went with a family of 15 people, ranging in ages from 9 through 87. Everyone found something to do, whether inside, outside, or sort of in between on the covered porches. We went in the winter, so we didn’t make use of the pool or the river, but are hoping to return to do so.The owner is unbelievably responsive and so organized. We absolutely loved communicating with him. While the house is listed as a five bath, one of those is in the pool house, only accessible in the warmer months, so that was unexpected. Jody , the owner, says that he is planning to add at least one more bathroom, so keep an eye out for that! We can’t wait to come back. *note- there are a few steps in the house, so for someone with mobility issues it might be a little tricky to use the game room or lower bedrooms.

Summary: We stayed at this property for a weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday and it was perfect for this! The house comfortably accommodated 20 of us- both couples and non couples. We enjoyed having fun on the karaoke stage and relaxing in the hot tub. The kitchen was perfect for a big dinner.We drove about 40 minutes to Windham Mountain for snow tubing which was a convenient day trip. Some people stayed back just because the house was too nice to leave.The host Jody was extremely helpful, flexible, and reachable. I highly reccommend this property and will likely be back in the future.

Summary: This past November was the 2nd year in a row that my entire family spent a long weekend at Jody’s beautiful and massive house. My family is full of children and young adults of all ages and Jody’s place has something for everyone to enjoy. The house itself is cozy with plenty of bedrooms throughout to accommodate a large group comfortably and the living room, dining room, and dens were great spaces for our family to connect over meals, play games and just talk and laugh. The game room and karaoke stage is always a hit and kept the adults singing into the wee hours of the night. The outside of the house is what I love and enjoy the most. We were blessed with sunny and above average temps for fall in upstate NY to get the entire family outside and playing volleyball, pickleball, soccer, football, wiffleball, or just watching the hawks flying in the sky and the beautiful Hudson River and landscape in the back. I can go on and on about all the things we enjoy about our time here but I’ll sum it all up by saying Jody’s house gives my entire family a place to unplug from devices and our hectic city lives and time to talk, play, laugh, to make many memories and to feel blessed that we have each other and this annual tradition to look forward to each year. Major plus is that Jody is an incredible host, gives you every bit of information needed to enjoy everything inside and out and is super accessible if needed. He keeps the house clean and in top working order…amazing!

Summary: Our 20 person company had an offsite here. There were many activities to participate in, tons of amenities, as it was overall a lovely home. We had a similar event at the house 2 years ago, and the place has only gotten better since our last stay.

Summary: I came to this house as a retreat for my school organization and we couldn’t have picked a better property! It had all the games we could ever want to play, both indoor and outdoor, we had the best time doing karaoke, and the kitchen/outdoor area was perfect for our cookout and making all our other meals! I would love to return again and would highly recommend this house to others!

Summary: I booked this Vrbo for myself and some friends for a birthday party. The listing looked unbelievable, with so many activities, so it was a clear choice. And my actual experience far exceeded my expectations. The property was stunning, had more activities than advertised, had comfortable accommodations - they really thought of everything! Each guest was blown away by the place. On top of that, Jody was the perfect host! We had been in touch for many weeks leading to the event, and he was always so responsive to my texts and calls. He even bought a tug-of-war rope for use after I asked him if he had one or not. On day of check-in, he gave me a thorough walk-through over the phone, and remained highly responsive throughout the visit. I cannot recommend this property enough - it will make for an unforgettable visit!
