The chalet's location is superb -- close to skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, fishing, swimming, and other water sports, shopping, dining, sporting and cultural attractions. Each summer, the Ironman competition passes right through our town of Wilmington!
Bedroom Details:
Lookout Mountain Chalet sleeps 10 people. There are four bedrooms, each with king-sized beds. It comfortably sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms plus 2 queen-size foam mattresses are also available.
All bedrooms boast flat-screen televisions, ceiling fans, oversized closets, warm color schemes, and comfy linens. A pack-and-play is provided for your convenience. All linens are included. Each spacious bedroom has warm, stylish colors and tasteful decor for a luxurious stay. The beds are comfortable and inviting for a restful night's sleep under beautiful, warm quilts. Extra pillows are on the beds for your enjoyment, and spare blankets are available for chilly nights.
Bedrooms are equipped with ceiling lighting and side table lamps that offer a softer glow for watching TV or relaxing.
The upper-level bedroom is a spacious, ensuite master bedroom with generous closets and workspace. A privacy window overlooks the stunning mountain range. A second large bedroom is conveniently located on the main level. Downstairs, the third and fourth bedrooms each have their own entrance for extra privacy, light, and easy outdoor access.
Bathroom Details:
Each bathroom in this amazing chalet is spacious, comfortable, and stylish. The main level bathroom is tastefully designed with a large custom tile shower and glass doors. The mirrored medicine cabinet and lovely granite top vanity have space to store your belongings. The upper-level master bathroom offers a beautiful oversize tile shower with glass doors. There is ample natural light, recessed lighting in the shower, an exhaust fan with the main overhead light, and over-sink lighting. The double sink vanity is topped with granite, and the bathroom has stylish tile flooring. The lower-level bathroom has a shower with seating and sliding doors. All bathroom fixtures are elegant and simple to use. There are ample water pressure and lighting in each bathroom. We think you'll find each one immaculate and lovely.
Also, a relaxing Finlandian dry sauna on the lower level is perfect for sore muscles and health!
Kitchen:
Our kitchen is a chef's dream! With expansive granite countertops and a full complement of tools and appliances, you'll enjoy preparing fantastic meals for the entire crew! Stools around the table/bar area enable your group to eat and gather together. Wireless internet plus local phone calling (USA only) are conveniently provided. Long-distance calls are not included. Feel free to place long-distance calls over wifi using an appropriate app.
Outdoor Living:
The outdoor living space at Lookout Mountain Chalet is sure to please with fantastic amenities to help you maximize your vacation enjoyment. Views from the oversized deck, an extension of the home's main level, are breathtaking. The deck contains a 5-person hot tub, dining table, and chairs. The yard offers plenty of room for playing and enjoying the great outdoors and a fire pit for making s'mores and memories with family and friends.
Additional Information:
For your comfort, from June 1st to September 15th, we are pleased to provide the main and upper-level bedrooms and the living room with air conditioning units.
The following items are minimally supplied (only enough to get you started): toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, and bath soap. Linens are provided, including bedsheets, washcloths, and bath towels, to use during your stay. We do not supply kitchen spices, condiments, hand towels, washcloths, beach towels, shampoo, body soaps, or charcoal.
A plow service shovels snow (above 5 inches) in winter. Sand and a snow shovel are available on the front deck for guest use.
The location of Lookout Mountain Chalet is perfect for couples, families, adventurers, nature lovers, shoppers, foodies, and everyone else! For children, Lookout Mountain Chalet is a children's dream! With a large yard in which to run and play amongst trees and rocks, it's like nature's playground! A seasonal creek right on the premises.
The home is ideally situated, just 1.9 miles from Whiteface Mountain Resort, a beautiful 15-minute drive from Lake Placid, and steps from hiking trails that vary from relaxed walking beginner trails to hard climbs expert trails. Be sure to visit the beautiful Wilmington Flume, a 3-minute drive from the chalet.
We have homes near each other, with some on the same street, making our homes the perfect getaway for family gatherings, reunions, or lodging for small corporate events.
Close to Lake Everest at Wilmington Town Beach, which has boat rentals, kayaking, picnic area, playground, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, paddle boarding, ice skating, and so much more!
Lake Placid is a beautiful 15-minute drive from Wilmington along NYS Route 86. Wilmington Notch on the way is breathtaking and has been designated part of the Olympic Scenic Byway. Hiking trailheads and beautiful High Falls Gorge are accessible right from the road!
A charming, all-season resort town, Lake Placid boasts a Main Street, unique, locally-owned shops, loads of dining options, sporting and cultural events, a movie theater, mini-golf, and a waterfront park where live music is featured weekly during summer. The town also has supermarkets, delis, and other conveniences.
Lookout Mountain Chalet is kept clean, and the owners and rental team take tremendous pride in ensuring that it is perfect for each guest's vacation. Our handyman service is on call 24 hours a day for any issue during your stay.
Select USA & Canadian holidays are subject to a 3 to 5-night minimum stay, otherwise there is a 2-night minimum stay. Pricing includes nightly rent, cleaning fee, Damage Protection Policy fee, and 5% Essex County bed tax. The Damage Protection fee covers accidental damage to furniture, appliances, electronic devices, windows, doors, and any home resource up to $1,500. If damages exceed $1,500, guests agree to cover the difference.
