Our classic beach villa is spacious & comfortable; perfect for families or group of friends to share. Large swimming pool is the focal point of the mature lawned garden. Timeless Caribbean style with white-painted mahogany louvred windows, cathedral ceilings and cool terrazzo marble floors, gives a sense of 'place'.
The villa has a prime location at the heart of the world-class oceanfront gated community of Sea Horse Ranch, just 20 mins' drive from Puerto Plata (POP) Airport. Glorious private beaches, double ocean front swimming pools with waterfalls & cave, tennis club, pickleball court, equestrian centre offering guided trail and beach rides, Beach Club restaurant & weekly Farmer's Market - all yours to enjoy! Excellent security, manicured green areas and walking/jogging paths throught the Ranch.
We also offer ''in villa dining'' - courtesy of the kitchen co-operative that is Elizabeth & NIdia our 2 long-standing housekeepers - both wonderful ''local'' cooks - who enjoy preparing the delicious classic Dominican dishes for our guests. Sue, who has cooked professionally around the world, adds an international touch/flavour to the mix - always using best local ingredients and meals perfect for the tropics/outdoor dining. The White House is a stylish vacation home - perfect for larger groups of family or friends. It has hosted many happy multi-generational gatherings. It is tastefully furnished in contemporary style with a mix of imported & local furniture, some vintage, upholstered with cotton slipcovers in neutral shades. The house is painted white throughout, making it very light. Carefully chosen pictures & fresh flowers complete the look.
The property is designed to take full advantage of its tropical setting in the midst of a mature tropical garden. 8 louvered doors completely open up the large sitting room to the wrap-around terrace, which is attractively furnished for outdoor living with comfortable rattan sofas and arm chairs. The dining table is located at one end & there is a brick BBQ on the lawn adjacent to the terrace.
The garden is very private and has a path giving direct access to the beach walkway. 3 of our 4 private beaches, the double ocean front swimming pools and the Beach Club restaurant are just a 2 -minute WALK from the White House.
The property has 5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms - located in 2 'wings' on either side of the spacious sitting room, thus making it ideal for groups of friends, or 2 families; giving a good degree of privacy to everyone.
The kitchen. with painted units & ''butcher block' wooden worktops has doors opening directly to the terrace & garden. New 6 burner cooker & large 'side by side' fridge freezer & microwave, dish-washer and good-quality china & glassware make it a pleasure for cooking. Alternatively, our cook service is available.
The villa has1 Smart TV in sitting room, as well as an excellent and reliable fibre optic internet broadband internet connection with 20 Mbps.

Summary: Property was beautiful. Our host was easy to communicate with. He made sure we had an abundance of information about the area. Staff was over the top nice. They had a large group to care for and sometimes cook fantastic meals for. Always pleasant!

Summary: We spent Christmas at the villa with three generations of my husband's family. It was wonderful! Sea Horse Ranch is a perfect place to vacation and we loved Steve and Sue's house. It felt like home. We enjoyed the privacy of the house but also loved the community amenities that were a short walk from the villa (pools, beaches, outstanding restaurant, tennis, equestrian center). Their housekeepers Elizabeth and Nidia were so kind and a great help during our stay. We have previously stayed at homes with full-time staff and preferred this so much more! Elizabeth and Nidia visited the house each morning to tidy the beds and sweep up sand, but otherwise we enjoyed privacy as a family. It was perfect! We arranged in advance for them to prepare several meals for our family, and wow -- delicious!! Their meals are not to be missed! We ate at The Beach Club for several meals as well, and that's also not to be missed! Gorgeous views!! Steve and Sue were very thoughtful hosts and great communicators. We appreciated all of their help with providing information and recommendations, assisting with transport, and greeting us upon arrival. Highly, highly recommend that anyone consider a stay here if you're headed to this part of the island.

Summary: Our stay at the White House and overall SHR, was just perfect. The entire process couldn't have gone smoother. Steve and Sue are truly amazing hosts! The cleanliness of the house and hospitality was top notch. Nidia and Elizabeth were the sweetest, always! The attention was always there. The security in the community is above and beyond. We felt very safe. This place accommodated my family and I perfectly. My children asked to go back and visit. I highly recommend for those looking to visit Puerto Plata. I will definitely be returning. Thanks Steve, Sue and staff. We appreciate you making our stay so great!

Summary: I make an annual girls' trip to new places worldwide, and the McQueen property has been one of the best VRBOs I have rented. When you enter Sea Horse Ranch, you feel safe and secure as security is on every corner of the gated community. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. The place is perfect for large groups, broken into two wings with an indoor and outdoor living space. I am an immaculate and tidy person, and the staff, Elisabeth and her partner, left no stone unturned when it came to daily cleaning and taking care of my group. We booked the meal options during our stay, which was the best food we had on the island. I highly recommend this service; it is affordable and very high quality. No need to clean up after; you can kick back, relax, and enjoy your vacation. Coca Tours provided my group with all airport transfers and other activities during our stay there. All Drivers and staff were very professional, and you could tell that they liked working for the McQueens. We also had a cancellation, and new request's during our stay, and Coco tours met the new changes with extreme ease. Once inside Sea Horse Ranch, you never have to leave. There are two custom-built swimming pools and one of the best restaurants within a 2-minute walk from the house. The Beach Club will bring drinks and food poolside to your group. You can also go horseback riding on the beach and through the many trails located within the community. Call it the "lazy man's hike," if you will. Sea horse ranch and the Mcqueen property are truly one of a kind. I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to travel to the Dominican Republic for vacation. As a side note: My group did tip the housekeeping staff, as their job went far beyond expectations.

Summary: I always enjoy visiting the Seahorse Ranch. It was my first time at this Vrbo. We liked that it was spacious and clean. Swimming in the pool at night is always a treat. The kitchen is well equipped, so we enjoyed breakfast and tea time in the backyard. There is also a horse ranch, a restaurant, a tennis court, and some private beaches on site. And the gated community feels safe because there is a ton of control and surveillance. The internet did not reach our bedrooms, and in the common areas, it would drop. That was rough for a work trip, but if you’re here on vacation, it might not be a problem at all. There is a lot of movement/staff walking in/around which made our privacy feel a bit more limited. But they are just doing their jobs. PS: we loved the cleaning ladies! They were wonderful.

Summary: We had a large family with 2 infants and 4 boys under 5 - let’s just say it was craziness! Steve and everyone at the ranch treated us amazingly and always were willing to help out with any questions we had. We loved the option of being able to walk down to the Beach Club/pools/beach for a new change of scenery. The house was perfect - thank you!!!

Summary: Our family of 6 had a great experience renting this property. the house is gorgeous. It's clean and super spacious. There is a great restaurant within walking distance as well as several beaches and pools. The grounds are immaculate and the area is very safe. There is plenty of activities, all within a short taxi away. Steve was available for any questions and helped us arrange a few outings. We had a great time and hope to return! If you are on considering booking this home, I highly recommend it!!
