Summary: This property was perfect for us because we were in town for a soccer tournament. We were gone all day and needed a place to sleep. Had a small kitchenette in the hallway outside of the room that was nice to have access to. Did not receive check in information prior to arrival but reached out to owner and received the instructions which were very easy. There was a lot of info provided in the property to enjoy the Amhurst area which makes us want to go back. The pizza place attached to the building was great and had friendly staff!

Summary: In general our experience was fine. We felt safe (as a mother and daughter traveling in a strange place alone, looking at Oberlin), and we were happy to have a clean bed and towels. Linens were fresh and beds were comfortable. The covers are very lightweight and the weather was very cold, but fortunately the heater worked well. This is a good no frills place to stay for the night and totally served it’s purpose. We were grateful to have it. I rely on reviews though so I will share our experience for others who may have similar preferences: The unit seemed basically clean save for a dust problem with fans, however. (There was so much dust on the fan in one of the rooms and in the exhaust fan in the shower that it was literally coming down on us. I cleaned the fan in the bedroom with tissue, but the exhaust fan above the shower was too gross to conquer and my daughter skipped the shower altogether.) The furnishings are not fancy but totally fine, and it’s evident effort was made to make it homey with various decorations and lots of color. As another reviewer mentioned, the kitchenette is separate so you walk into the hallway and next door is a locked kitchenette. We didn't need it but if we had, I would have preferred not to have to leave the unit to make a coffee, for instance. So, just know that going in in-case it matters. Also, as a reviewer mentioned, there’s no place to hang-out except sitting on the beds. For us this was not a problem, but for others it might be. Communication was OK. Maybe I was just over-tired, but there were little things that made it a bit confusing for me (the parking place isn’t marked, the welcome info needs some up dates like how to lock the door and what the WI-FI info is. I wasn’t sure which of the many doors in the building to go to - the unit is upstairs FYI which I don’t think is mentioned. Just a heads up if you’re carrying luggage. ) Nothing critical, but for an exhausted traveler these little things can make a difference. Also, the WI-FI did not work for us. The owner said it had been working previously for guests though so I guess we were unlucky. As for the location, the area is quaint with a lovely used bookstore nearby, and about 15 mins to Oberlin. Restaurants close early and there is no nearby grocery so plan ahead. Also, oddly, no cafe. We ate at Coles for an early dinner and it was good. Breakfast at Ziggy’s (opened at 8a on Sunday) was huge and fresh.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at the Sandstone Suite. It was the perfect location for our day trips to Cedar Point and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The suite is clean and quiet and sits at the corner of a charming town, close to restaurants and shops. We would stay again!
