Positive: Suminoyu is perfect - we absolutely loved our stay! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time relaxing in the onsen and using the public baths around the village. The ryokan staff are delightful and couldn’t be more helpful. In particular, the shuttle to the station and monkey park is convenient. The food is outstanding.

Negative: Nothing, we couldn’t fault Suminoyu.

Summary: The perfect Japanese ryokan experience, 10/10!!

Positive: Breakfast was awesome! The staff were great! Loved it all :)

Negative: There weren't too many negative things, but I didn't realize there wouldn't be a shower/bath in the hotel, and also the outlets need updating

Positive: Perfect place for serenity, peace, and having harmony with an onsen experience. I highly recommend the onsen on the 6th floor for a sunset moment. The staff is amazing, helpful, and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were tasty!

Positive: The guesthouse is a newer build which is a great plus. Our room was very spacious and very clean. Tatami mats were comfortable. Location is great, right in the village centre and next to all bathing houses. It is also next to a beautiful temple and 3 minutes away from the bus stop. The staff, the food and the onsen were all great.

Positive: Stayed one night, but the experience was worth the trip from Nagano. Public warm bath, good traditional dinner and breakfast. A bit far from the station but the owners picked us up (7 people) at the station...
