Positive: We liked, the setting, the views, the hosts' interaction with us, the rooms, the space, the decor, the many pieces of kitchen equipment, condiments, white goods, the fact that there were plenty of bathroom/shower options to cover the whole family, the large table in Zoe's cottage easily accommodated our gathering of 7, the fact that a dog was allowed, the outdoor seating and we loved to see the many pets on site. There were lots of board games and videos to suit all ages and tastes and TVs in every room. We also liked the recycling facilities. The hosts were quick to put right a non-working bulb for us
Negative: The cottages were well occupied by a host of spiders which we ousted due to family preferences. The sudden drop down into the car parking area caught us out on arrival but was OK thereafter. Maybe this could be built up a bit or a warning sign erected. The Wi-fi signal was poor/non-existent but that meant for a peaceful, non-tech week. These aren't complaints, they are just observations.
Summary: A wonderful place for peace and quiet but access to nearby towns.

Positive: The directions were easy to follow- we got to the property and it was immaculate We were travelling with young children and everything had been thought of The hosts were so friendly and approachable- nothing was too much trouble- queries were answered almost immediately We would defiantly book this holiday home again and would 100% recommend it to anyone The hot tub was the icing on the cake
Negative: Honestly, I cannot find a single thing that I thought there was room for improvement We have stayed in a few places and this is the best by far

Positive: We did self catering but all kitchen equipment was excellent along with a good coffee maker !! Kitchen was of a good size as were all of the rooms and were tastefully furnished there was also a couple of dining tables outside, one on the patio and one in the garden area (which was fenced off and netted so that dogs can roam without stressing ) under a lovely wooden arbour. The hotub was a good large size with easy access and availability. It was really nice especially for the children to have chickens and ducks running around and to watch the lovely pony and horses ( not forgetting the Alpacas in the field) Also for the kiddies there was also a good sized trampoline (safety ringed) and a small climbing castle frame. Just across the minor road ( with very few cars) there were some lovely accessible walks ranging in distance as far as you wanted or circulars from 4 miles upwards, there were also walks close to the property. Bakewell was only approx 5.5 miles and matlock around 7 but other nice walks available in Winster approx 2 miles. Hats off to the hosts Steve and Zoe who were very friendly and helpful and being there if we needed anything whilst not being intrusive. If in the area again it would be my 'go to ' place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone .
Negative: Couldn't fault the place. Only slight niggle were some large potholes in the minor roads getting there so take extra care.
