Summary: It was a wonderful experience. The house was just right for us and the weather was perfect.Everybody enjoyed the space and also the pool area, where we all could enjoy each other's company.Restaurants and places to walk and hike are close by.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at The White Elephant Inn! The house was charming, with so many interesting details that made our experience both enjoyable and comfortable. It was well-equipped and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. One of the standout features was that each room had its own private bathroom, which made it incredibly convenient for everyone.The only thing that caught us off guard was discovering that the owner lives in a separate unit attached to the house. However, this wasn’t an issue at all, as they were very respectful of our space and kept to themselves. That said, we did feel the need to be a bit quieter coming back after a night out, as the owner's unit is located in the basement.The house itself was clean, functional, and ideal for our needs. The only small suggestion I have is that one of the main bedrooms was missing a flat sheet and pillowcases on the pillows, which may have been a small oversight. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely stay here again, especially in the summer when we could take advantage of the pool!

Summary: We have stayed at the White Elephant several times and keep coming back because it is a great house. The pool is spectacular and the amenities are excellent. The house is also conveniently located and accessible to pretty much everything in Charlottesville.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay! House was clean and accommodating. The pool and pool house were fabulous. Owners were on site but did not invade our privacy at all. Highly recommend.

Summary: Plenty of room for our family & friend group to gather together without being on top of each other. Beds & pillows were comfy, kitchen was well stocked, pool setting was stunning, & communication with hosts was fantastic! The location is terrific…we stayed for UVA graduation week and the proximity to campus, restaurants & grocery stores was wonderful! Truly a gem of a property!

Summary: A tropical Paradise in the middle of Charlottesville, close to everything yet very tranquil. Wonderful bedrooms and discrete work areas on the inside accentuate the unbelievable pool area and pavilion behind. Beautifully well done, and not adequately depicted in pictures. It’s a near perfect getaway venue. Amazing hosts were always available and nothing went undone or wanting. Very responsive and cordial.

Summary: Our best and wholehearted recommendation! We spent a week to remember at The White Elephant, with family and friends who came for the wedding of our son in Charlottesville. There were 13 of us staying at The White Elephant, and four others were in a nearby hotel, but spent much of the daytime here. We were all impressed by the beauty, elegance and practicality of this place, secluded on a gentle slope in a woody area. The rooms and kitchens are big, the decks too, all nicely furnished. The swimming pool and the area around it are spectacular; it was a kids’ paradise and a great party place. The day before the wedding we organized a rehearsal dinner there for 70 guests and it was a big success. The owners, Bill and Katie, were kind and discreet, always ready to answer our calls. They not only tolerated our throwing a big party, but provided a lot of real help. We all left the place thinking how fortunate we were; it was much beyond our expectations.

Summary: My family had the absolute pleasure of staying in this amazing home. The space was more than enough to accommodate our large group. One of the best features for me was the pool house kitchen that made hanging out even better as no one was "stuck" in the kitchen away from all the fun. The pool was perfect and so refreshing after a hot day exploring Charlottesville proper. The owners are one in a million and will answer all your questions. A true gem and we will definitely be returning!

Summary: A wonderful stay for UVA graduation weekend. House was very close to town (and we could drive back roads the whole way to avoid 29 traffic!). Very clean and well stocked house, we cooked meals for 10 and loved sitting out by the pool. The pool house kitchen really helped with drinks and cleanup. Loved the hot tub on cool nights. All in all it was perfect for our extended family stay and made for a wonderful celebration!
