Modern, spacious, air-conditioned/heated top-floor self-catering apartment. Lift access. 100 m from seafront and marina. Views over islands of Ria Formosa Natural Park. Two main bedrooms can both be set up as king-size or single beds ; and annex area off of the master bedroom has a very comfy chair bed, or the space could be used for a baby cot. Two bright fully tiled bathrooms. Airy lounge and dining area. Balcony area for outside dining, in sun from early afternoon. Free WiFi. Smart TV with many apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Disney+, HBO & Spotify (subscriptions required). Well equipped kitchen with water filter tap. Lots of storage space. Shared swimming pool on roof terrace with loungers. Video phone to external door. Electric shutters to windows. Easy, free car parking. Complimentary welcome pack - a few essentials to start you off. No pets allowed & smoking not permitted in the apartment. Easy walk to a variety of shops, restaurants & children's play areas. Large supermarket within 1 km, with others in town. A wonderful year-round rental - great for long stays.
Accessibility: The property is wheelchair accessible from street level via one of two lifts. The rooms will accommodate wheelchair use, although some mobility would be required to use either the 90 cm by 90 cm shower (with corner opening doors), the bath or WCs.
The roof terrace (with toughened glass barriers surrounding) can be accessed by the main lifts. At the roof level, the swimming pool is accessed by a short flight of steps, and there are also two or three steps leading into the pool itself , with no handrail.
The owners of the property have two children and warmly welcome other families to enjoy the property. Please contact us if you have any specific requirements to make your stay with children easier and we do our best to help.
Travel: Faro Airport is 15 min by road. Olhao rail station an easy 15 min walk, with services to Faro, Fuzeta, Lisbon, Spanish border, etc. As all amenities are within walking distance a car is not necessary, unless you want to visit interesting places on the Algarve or go golfing.
Distances: Central Faro 10km - historic old town and great modern shopping centre. 12km to Faro beaches. Loule 25 min drive - pretty inland town. Almancil 25 min drive. 18 km to Tavira. 30 km from Vilamoura. 40 km from Albufeira and 60km from Spanish border. The N125 is the old coast road and passes through several coastal towns, including Olhao. The A22 is the newer road a few miles North - quicker for longer east-west journeys.
The islands of the Ria Formosa Park are well worth a visit - frequent ferries and water taxis from Olhao jetty (a 10 min walk from the apartment) give you access to miles of golden beaches - there are also small shops and eateries on most of the islands.
Additional information: The apartment is managed and serviced by a friendly British husband and wife team, who can be contacted should any problems arise with the rental. They can also provide babysitting services and airport transfers, by prior arrangement.
Within the Village Marina development lies the 5 star Real Marina Hotel and Spa. This has a great range of wonderful spa facilities, which can be booked by non-residents - simply inquire at hotel reception. We can also recommend the hotel's very good Sunday brunch buffet, as well as their evening buffets in high season, and a la carte menus at other times.
All windows have Juliet balconies, with toughened glass and steel balcony walls that are 120 cm high.
Children under the age of 12 years to be accompanied at all times when using pool.

Olhao's famous Shellfish Festival is mid-August, and the Fiera de Laranja is 3rd Sat & Sun in August.

Summary: This was our second time staying at this apartment and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The host, Moira, and her property manager, Eduarda, take the time to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. We didn't have any issues during our 3 week stay and this apartment truly has become our "home away from home".

Summary: A very spacious, clean and well-equipped apartment in a great location and with fabulous views from the balcony and kitchen across to tidal salt flats. We appreciated the pro-active communications from the owner (Moira) who provided practical information about the apartment, town and general area. We were greeted and shown around by the delightful property manager (Eduarda) having been kindly granted an early check-in and left with a very generous welcome pack. This property offers a safe location, plentiful parking right outside, easy access to the fourth floor in a fast, modern elevator, and ready access to a roof-top terrace with wonderful views (sadly we didn't brave the pool). Olhao is an up and coming town which blends tradition with responsible tourism, offering many simple and appealing pleasures such as waterfront walks, ferry rides to nearby islands, and a wide range of restaurants, not to mention a superb fish and fruit/veg market and excellent local supermarkets. It's an easy 15-minute car journey from Faro airport and a great base to explore other gems of the Eastern Algarve, such as Tavira, Fuseta and Santa Luzia. We were fortunate to experience a week of almost unbroken winter sunshine and returned home refreshed after a relaxing break based in this excellent, quality apartment.

Summary: The hosts and the onsite manager are very helpful and well organized. The location of the condo is fabulous. Cobblestone paths to old Olhao city are easy to walk. For anyone who has mobility issues, wheelchair navigation is a bit more problematic. Comdo is well equipped. Peaceful unit.

Summary: Olhão is such a great location to visit with lovely restaurants & bars and only a short ride from the airport. Communications with the host were fantastic and lots of helpful information was provided ahead of our trip. We were met by Eduarda who is a really lovely lady. She showed us around and was very helpful & so friendly. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The bed was particularly comfortable. It is a 10-15 min walk from the restaurants and the ferry to islands to reach the most beautiful beaches. We had a wonderful break away from wet & cold autumn weather. We will stay again if we visit the area in the future.

Summary: Great communication with the owners and Eduarda, the property manager ensured a trouble free stay. The apartment exceeded expectations - spacious, clean, well equipped and furnished- fab views from spacious balcony and good pool. Area perfect for us, enough to do but not too touristy. We preferred the more traditional restaurants, best quality and value , fresh fish amazing.

Summary: First of all, i thank Moira/John(Owners) for acknowledging our 34th wedding anniversary. We appreciate you. The cake, card and welcome package was so kind. From the booking process to the checkout process it was professional and effortless. The property manager Barbara Eduarda greeted us with a smile and referred to us as My Friends. She ensured us she would be available if we had any questions or need assistance with anything. Prior to our arrival, we were sent a detailed map of the area along with grocery store info, market info, train/ferry info. In addition she provided us with Lil Jumpy Monkey(Transport/Tours) which we used as airport transfers being it was our 1st time in Portugal. Their service is first class, top notch with a smile. When we walked into your home, it instantly felt like OUR HOME! Everything we wanted and needed was there or within walking distance. This home is very well furnished, immaculate and in a very lovely location. This was a surreal experiece! Just unpack and relax as everything is there. We had concerns regarding phone chargers and laptop. All the necessary adapters were provided. I highly recommend this place! We vacationed 2 weeks and it was not long enough. We were sad to leave but good memories are with us UNTIl we make more memories on our return. Thank you again. We are already looking at our schedule for next May for 3/4 weeks.
