Beautiful manor house from the 1930s on cobbled street in the heart of the historic center, entirely pedestrian area!Family cafe on the ground floor open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
300 meters from the sea, close to all shops and markets. Can comfortably accommodate 6 people. Not suitable for young children.
Living area of 140m2 upstairs, including a large double living room (satellite TV, internet wi-fi) opening onto a terrace of 60m2, bbq, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, an office bedroom with a sofa - bed, wc, 2 bathrooms with shower, one with wc. Reversible air conditioning (living room and 2 bedrooms) fan in the living room and the three bedrooms. 140m2 upper solarium terrace accessible from the first with a view of the old town. No noise from cars and planes like in Faro!

Summary: What a beautiful home. From the exquisitely carved front door to the extraordinary outdoor space, this flat provided everything we needed, along with some things we didn’t even know we’d want. The beautiful, big outdoor awning to provide shade during the hotter parts of the day was one of those things! We have traveled to other European cities and we usually rent a flat for a few weeks. However, none have been completely furnished, well laid out floor plan, and provided as good a kitchen, modern bathrooms and showers, a really good washing machine, and lovely bedrooms and living areas. The combination of the age of the building (quite old I’m sure) with the updated conveniences was perfect. The faux marbled walls are beautiful! Two bathrooms are an excellent advantage. The location is ideal! Steps away from the waterfront, The Pingo Doce Grocery Store as well as the markets made for ease of shopping. And ice cream treats daily. Maria, the house caretaker, is amazing. Never loses her cool, can’t help enough, and she knows the area so well we could count on her for any questions, recommendations, and being a good friend. We fell in love with Olhão, the charm of the village, and we are already planning our next visit to the house.

Summary: Loved the location and the pedestrian walk away. Lots of great restaurants around only negative i have is the futon mattress in the small room was extremely uncomfortable. I would stay there again though with less people so I didn’t have to use that room. There was 2 couples and myself as a solo

Summary: The apartment is located in the center of the Olhauo old town, very close to the market, harbor and many restaurants. The area around the aparment was clean and safe. The house was very well kept and beautifully renovated with an eye for nice details. The two bathrooms were modern and very clean. The large kitchen is very well kept and provides the possibility to prepare meals. The beds were comfortable. The two terraces were set up nicely with places to sit and enjoy the nice view of the city. Our contact Henri was very nice and was available for any needs we had. We had a great time and hope to be able to go back for a visit one day.

Summary: This is the best property we have stayed in with VRBO. The apartment was magnificent, beautifully furnished, and of wonderful quality. The rooms were large and elegant. The kitchen was well stocked and electrical equipment all as new. The outside spaces and roof terrace were perfect. The position in the old town was just right. Quiet evenings and bustling with locals during the day. The manager was very helpful and always available. Thank you Fabienne. Nick and Siân.

Summary: Five stars across the board apart from overall, then 4 four. Why? 1. A property is being renovated directly across the street. The concrete mixer starts at 08.00 every morning. This I can forgive: one of the pluses of the apartment is that it is centrally located so coinciding with this kind of work is just bad luck, not the owner's fault. Less forgiveable is the property being renovated next door, by the owner's husband. The noise of angle grinders at 18. 30, when you are trying to relax outside with a drink, is not great. 2. The above mentioned individual (very helpful and polite) and the local agaent who showed us in at the beginning of our stay, sit at a table outside the cafe downstairs ALL day, quite often right outside the front door. This got a bit wearing after a while; we felt like our every movement was being monitored. It wasn't of course, but sometimes it felt like it. We had a great week and can thoroughly recommend both Olhao and the apartment but it might be worth asking if the building work described above has finished before booking, if you value peace and quiet.

Summary: The apartment is very well renovated, retaining all the charm of a characterful old building, with lots of modern comforts. There are two roof terraces, one directly off the kitchen and sitting room, and one higher up with great views of the white rooftops of Olhão and the church. A very relaxing place to stay, on a pedestrianised street a few minutes walk from the waterfront. Olhão itself is a great place to visit, even off season, when the weather is still mild, and most places, including the amazing fish and vegetable markets, are open year round.

Summary: We stayed for 6 weeks around February 2019 and Fabienne, HP & family were really great owners - very helpful but chilled-out too. This is a restored and updated historic house with two generous outside spaces and wonderful views over the cubist roof-tops of the historic quarter of Olhao. We had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay - the pictures don't do justice to the size of the house! It has very high ceilings, great period furniture & lighting in the bedrooms, a good kitchen, comfy beds & a beautiful container-grown garden planted with succulents, agaves & architectural planting. Tables that comfortably seat 6 are both inside and out in the garden, along with loungers & shade equipment. All in, it's a really well-equipped property with a good mix of modern-comfort and historic detail. Noise from the street and cafe downstairs never bothered us. It's a gentle 3 minute stroll to the two fantastic food markets plus ferries to the islands, cafes, shops, supermarket, bakery, bars & restaurants - even the post office is less than 5 mins away. The location is perfect for exploring the old town and, with a car, you can be on your way out of town within 5 mins. Highly recommended!
