Summary: The porch offers a peaceful view of the water and sunrises and sunsets. Wind kept biting bugs away. It takes more like 40 minutes to drive to the French Quarter but worth it to have best of both worlds—a taste of New Orleans and the peace and quiet of the lake. A few minor suggestions for enhancements: add some hooks or towels racks to both bathrooms. Provide cushions for the plastic porch furniture.

Summary: Very spacious house with amazing views from all sides! Huge corner lot made for great fishing and outdoor play for the kids. Nice open floor plans with big bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!!

Summary: We had a fabulous stay at the Blue Heron house. Plenty of room for 6 adults. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Caught fish right out front! It was nice to be in a quiet area with New Orleans about 30 minutes away. Being between Lake St Catherine and Lake Pontchartrain awarded us with beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Summary: My Husband, Mom, Sisters, Brother, Nieces and Nephews were all available to finally celebrate thanksgiving after a couple years of just being busy This house was great. We did have a small ant problem, but has a New Orleans Native i know that in this setting ants and mosquitoes come with the territory. The kids fished, and had a nice front yard space to play in. If you plan on coming to this home with small ones you must be super vigilant because you are definitely at the waters edge. We saw rabbits, a couple of 12 foot alligators, and heard toads that sound like goats. Overall this was a fishermans paradise (my husband and i promised to teach the kids how to fish) and i enjoyed sharing this hidden gem of New Orleans with my family.
