The others months we use the solar painel to heat the water at no extra cost.however if requested heating pump have a cost 200euros week

The pool measures 14x 6 meters with a solar heating system. The shallow end is 90 cm deep, the deep end 2 meter.

being 2km away from serro sao Miguel ,a travel to the top of Cerro da São Miguel and you won't be disappointed. Amazing views across the whole Algarve. Good road to the top and places to park. Worth parking half way and walking the rest so you can admire the views. Take the track off road to see rare wildflowers and abundant butterflies. Keep your eye skyward and you may see an eagle soaring on the thermals. Well worth a morning visit

Despite of being the highest, São Miguel mountain is rather low so it is very convenient to drive, bike or walk up there, specially for those sun magic moments.

We also have a restaurant called " Restaurante Colibri" which is very well known in the area and it is quite common for us to receive our guests from Villa Colibri for dinner or lunch. we have delicious and portuguese food.
We have a lot of experience with the public and we are very happy to meet new guests. We always give advice on places to visit/where to eat and what to do so that you can enjoy your holidays at 100%.

Other things to do: For nature lovers, nature trails along the Ria Formosa Reserve where bird watching is in abundance. Travelling West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Guia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine all easily reached by car or by day trip coach.

The Spanish border town of Ayamonte is approx 25 km by car, where the delights of another country can be sampled along with wine, Tapas and shopping. Ayamonte can also be reached by ferry from Vila Real. Seville is about 170 km away and budding historians may enjoy Castro Marim castle.
Golf: This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and can be reached within several minutes. The prestigious new course of Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus now has its first 18 holes open and is continuing in its development to the second phase offering the height of golfing luxury - although a costly experience, this is a real treat for golfing fanatics wishing to experience a little high life! Colina Verde: The Colina Verde is a small inland 9-hole course situated in Maragota, between the coast and the Algarvian mountain range.
Beaches - The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches and the Island of Tavira is no exception. As a natural island separated from the mainland by the River Formosa, it is reached by catching a ferry from a designated point in the harbour. A excellent range of facilities is offered including beach bars, fish restaurants, Portuguese cuisine, pizza restaurant to name but a few. Also for hire are sunbeds and shades and together, these ingredients give a wonderful tropical holiday atmosphere amongst white sandy beaches and the rolling Atlantic Ocean akin to the Caribbean! There are a number of other beautiful beaches that we can also recommend such as Barill, Manta Rota and Praia Verde
Pedras del Rey , Barril Beach - Linked across the Ria Formosa the choice is an old steam train that doubles up as a goods train for the restaurants by the beach, which chug's along at a snails pace or a 2 km walk up through the Formosa to the beach, if you walk, take your time to spot the hermit crabs if the tide is out or smell the fresh pines as you meander through the tree's towards the beach.
Enjoy a wonderful few hours on the beach collecting all manner of shell's that have washed up on the shore, then retreat to one of the low key restaurants for a wonderful lunch before either returning to the beach or heading back to the villa.
