This beautifully furnished detached cottage is just brimming with charm and character, from its traditional beams to its fabulous wood burner. The cottage has lovely open-plan living areas and is perfect for a couple or a small family to enjoy at any time of the year.
Just a short stroll away is the centre of Penrhyndeudraeth where you can find a pub, cafรฉ, shop, restaurant, takeaways and a main line station. It also has a station on the world-famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway, which winds its scenic way down to the sea at Porthmadog or journeys into the mountains to reach the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, which of course is also now well known for its zip wires, underground trampolines at Bounce Below and world class mountain biking.
Arddwyn is perfectly located for exploring the surrounding Snowdonia National Park and of course the fabulous coastline, with Black Rock Sands, 5 miles, one of the regionโ€™s superb sandy beaches where you can even drive your car on to the beach! Championship golf courses, horse riding, mountain biking and excellent walking opportunities are easily accessible. A visit to the renowned Italianate village of Portmeirion, 2 miles, is a must and Harlechโ€™s magnificent castle is only an 8-mile drive. Beach 2ยฝ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ยฝ mile.

Summary: A lovely little cottage with everything we needed (except the sunshine) we found some lovely places nearby as it is perfectly placed to explore the area. The basket of tea,coffee and cake was very welcome and my husband discovered a love for welshcakes ! All in all a lovely week away.

Summary: Great base for a walking holiday. We used the train quite a lot to do parts of the Welsh coastal path. Also the Ffestiniog railway to walk back (easier than going up) from Ffestiniog to the cottage.

Summary: We had a wonderful break at Arddwyn cottage, it is well situated for most activities, personally we used it as a base for mountain hiking and exploring Portmeirion. It is a very quiet cottage with everything you need, even a tumble dryer, oh and Wifi/internet connection is excellent. The cottage was very clean, tidy and comfortable. It is very close to Porthmadog (coastal town) where there is loads of shops and a Tesco supermarket with petrol station but Penrhyndeudraeth itself also has a few small shops.

Summary: Loved the cottage - very well thought out - equipped with everything you might need for a stay. Well located to discover Portmeirion, the Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog to Caernarfon and the Sygun Copper Mine in Beddgelert. :)
