Float On is the perfect cottage for your Outer Banks getaway! It is centrally located in Kill Devil Hills, providing easy access to neighboring towns and many OBX attractions.
This classic saltbox home rests in a quiet KDH neighborhood and features living space, a full kitchen, two bedrooms, one full bath, and laundry facilities. For your convenience, there is an enclosed outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. Relax on the back deck or multi-level patio.
One bedroom is suited with a king bed and the other with two twin beds. Linens and bath towels are provided.
The fully equipped kitchen with countertop seating is ready for you to cook and enjoy meals. There's also a charcoal grill in the backyard.
When it’s time to wind down, hang in the living room where there is a 50-inch Smart TV and wifi. We've also stocked the house with board games and movies for those rainy days.
Your well-mannered pup is welcome here too! The backyard is fenced in; however, please keep your pet company while in the yard and pick up after them. While away from the home, we ask that you crate your dog. We do request a non-refundable pet fee.
Float On is not only located near many shops and restaurants, the beautiful Albemarle Sound is a short walk away where you will have water access, many an incredible sunset, and miles of paved multi-use trail. A public boat ramp is also nearby. The Atlantic Ocean is not far either. Third Street provides a crosswalk and a straight shot to the beach! Our guests enjoyed the bikes and beach carts provided.

Summary: Perfect place for my partner & my small pup for a week in OBX! The property was easy to find, comfortable, and just a short drive from beach access. We enjoyed the location/neighborhood & found plenty of excellent dining options nearby. The host was so friendly and helpful! I can’t recommend this place enough!

Summary: We loved staying in Josh’s home! It was sparkling clean and exactly as advertised. Its close proximity to the sound was perfect for long morning walks with our dog and beautiful views of OBX sunsets. We really enjoyed taking the beach cruisers for long rides. Thanks for the memories!

Summary: This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and we found this home a perfect central location for all we wanted to explore. We loved being so close to the multi-use trail and rode bikes every day. The house was clean, the bed was comfortable, and our kids loved the outdoor shower. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay so very much! The home is spotless! So many beautiful touches to give the home charm. The home was comfortable and welcoming. The king size bed was so comfortable to sleep on. We enjoyed the hammock on the deck to sit outside and listen to the birds. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Having a washer/dryer is always a plus! Josh and Vanessa were so easy to communicate with and made our stay lovely.

Summary: I stayed at Float On for an extended period in June, as I wanted a quiet place to work, write and enjoy the beach with my dog after a very busy period. The property and hosts delivered on everything! The home is compact, extremely neat, uncluttered and located in a quiet neighborhood of full-time residents. Despite its somewhat austere furnishings, everything you need is here and of very high quality. For me, the atmosphere of organization and tidiness was extremely relaxing. My beagle loved the direct access from the front deck (my hangout) to the grassy fenced yard. On our daily walks on the beautiful soundside multi-use path, my beag and I were quickly befriended by the locals and I learned a lot about the community. And from this location it was a quick drive to free beach parking and being right on the sand in seconds! I usually stay in Corolla but was pleasantly surprised by how much more I enjoyed the close conveniences, less tourist crowding and smoother traffic flow of KDH. A highlight was walking down to 3rd Steet beach for fireworks on the 4th By the end of my time at Float On, I was genuinely sorry to leave. My doggo was so distraught at having to go he wouldn't get in the car and I had to chase him through the neighborhood. Thanks to the awesome locals, we had him in the car and ready to go quickly. Favorite things about Float On: Beach bikes, outdoor shower, comfy king bed, cute, quiet neighborhood, high -end washer-dryer, great hosts!
