This cottage is located on Colington Island and is off the beaten path but still only 3.5 miles (a quick 8 minute drive) to the beach. You will be welcomed to this very clean and cozy, fully stocked and full of character cottage with a WATER VIEW OF THE SOUND. This cottage is located 1 lot from the sound and has a great water view.
The cottage is ground level and free of stairs. All doors are wide and handicap friendly. There are 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. There is a utility room with washer and dryer available for guest use. Both bedrooms have queen size beds. The sleeper sofa also offers a queen size bed. Linens and bath towels/wash cloths are provided. The kitchen is stocked and has everything you need to prepare your evening meal after a day at the beach. This home is furnished with local hand painted eclectic decor. The outdoor shower welcomes you after a trip to the beach or for a shower under the stars. Just around the corner you can go crabbing on what us locals call “the crabbing bridge” such a great time and great way to make memories! This cottage is fantastic and waiting to offer you the perfect vacation!

Summary: This cottage was the perfect accommodations for my husband, my mother, my dog, and myself! It's location is convenient to nearby eateries and activities. The host did an amazing job at making sure we had all we needed, and had all the information we needed. Her recommendations for treats and eats were excellent. The cottage was clean and inviting. Summary: What a gem! This cottage is out of the hustle-bustle but within minutes of the beach. Pristine-clean and fully stocked, you will want for nothing. We loved the ease of pulling up to the door and rolling in luggage directly to our bedroom! The sound view out back is lovely. The cottage is fully-stocked with staples and snacks, amenities like Q-Tips, flossers, even toothbrushes! Although we didn't cook, all the cookware and packaging supplies are included. Tanya is truly a super host! She even went the extra mile finding and shipping two hats my husband accidentally tossed in the outdoor trash bin at checkout. Quick and easy communication made this a perfect stay. Unless it's the peak of summer heat, we've now learned how much better it is to stay on the sound side and avoid the biting wind and sand. While here, don't miss the charming Colington Cafe. We had the unusual fortune of being a walk-in but were immediately seated and served. The food is exquisite and they have a 100% food service sanitation rating. Back on the highway is JK's for those who appreciate an excellent steak and an 8" long baked potato. And don't miss Kill Devil Grill! Across the street from this cottage is Harbor Grill & Pizza. Live music and great pizza, fun! Summary: Our family recently stayed at OBX Island Cottage and it was an unforgettable experience for all of us, including our dogs! The property was not just pet-friendly but truly embraced the idea of making our furry family members feel at home. From the spacious accommodations that provided plenty of room for our 2 dogs to relax. The accomodations were comfortable for my family and the property is well equipped with all the things we needed. Tanya went above and beyond, offering thoughtful touches like dog bowls and treats. She quickly responded to all our questions. Our vacation was stress-free and very memorable. We were thrilled to discover that many of the local attractions , nearby beach and dining spots were dog-friendly too, allowing us to enjoy meals and activities as a whole family. This made our vacation so much more enjoyable and relaxing, knowing our dogs were welcome everywhere we went. Overall, this cottage provided the perfect setting for a family vacation where our dogs could be included in all the fun. We can’t wait to come back!

Summary: Tanya, the host was AMAZNG! The property was super cute and clean! Tanya would check in occasionally to make sure everything was going well. She thought of EVERTHING. In case we forgot anything she had toothbrushes, hair ties, beach towels, sunscreen, bug spray. She also had coffee pods and creamers along with some other little kitchen food/drink items. She is very thoughtful of her guest. The cottage was very clean and located in a quiet area despite the busy road. The view in the back on the water was beautiful and peaceful. I had an encounter with the back neighbor, he was super friendly. This was my first Vrbo experience and she certainly set the expectations high moving forward. If you get the opportunity, I recommend booking a stay! I would love to go back.

Summary: This cottage was everything that was described and pictures showed in the listing. It was cozy and felt like a home away from home. Very clean! Nice decor and very well stocked. Close to everything. Tanya was a wonderful communicator. She got back to us within an acceptable timeframe and answered any questions we had and made great suggestions.

Summary: We had an amazing week at the cottage. The place was centrally located and we easily visited all of OBX from here. The house was sparkling clean. Our 14 month old love the open space since he was just learning to walk. They have a lot of nice touches and extras for all the things you might forget. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We have rented many vrbo’s in the past and I have never been in a home that is so well equipped and welcoming. There is anything you could possibly want from snacks, spices, toothbrushes and on and on. Very dog friendly and wonderful for mobility issues. Unloading and loading the car was so easy since you park right at the front door. We recommend this vrbo highly and Tanya is a gem.
