OUR HOME IS BUILT ON 2 ACRES, LOCATED ABOUT A MILE OUTSIDE OF ATENAS AND IS PART OF AN EXCLUSIVE GATED ECO-RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY CALLED PICA FLORA.

THE HOUSE IS DESIGNED AROUND THE POOL WITH COVERED WALKWAYS FROM ONE BEDROOM TO THE NEXT. THERE IS A LARGE COVERED BREEZEWAY IN THE CENTER FOR OUTDOOR DINING AND RELAXING. THE NEWEST ADDITION TO OUR HOME IS OUR 3RD. BEDROOM (CASITA) BUILT ON OUR DECK WITH IT’S OWN INDOOR/OUTDOOR SHOWER WITH 2 SHOWER HEADS. WE ALSO BUILT A PRIVATE PORCH FOR THE CASITA. A GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND WATCH THE TROPICAL BIRDS. A PERGOLA ON THE DECK SERVES AS ANOTHER OUTDOOR DINNING AREA.
WE LOVE TO COOK SO THERE’S EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED IN OUR LARGE KITCHEN AND YOU’LL FIND MOST FOOD SUPPLIES AT THE SUPER MARKET IN ATENAS. LIZ AND I ARE AVID GARDENERS AND WE'VE FILLED OUR PROPERTY WITH PLENTY OF TROPICAL PLANTS AND FRUIT TREES. THERE’S EVEN A SMALL HERB GARDEN OFF THE KITCHEN. Summary: Stunningly beautiful house and view, safely tucked away in a private gated sanctuary. Set on the edge of a steep ridge line overlooking a valley, that is home to monkeys, birds, iguanas, giant moths and butterflies living in harmony with neighbouring farms set on the impressive slopes around us. All this a short 5 minute drive to town. This home is magical.

Summary: The house is spectacular, beautifully designed and maintained. All the spaces have a wonderful indoor/outdoor feel. There are flowers and birds everywhere, and there is a very good view of a huge valley and mountain ridge where birds soar and cattle roam in the distance. Highly recommend!

Summary: 10 Pica Flora is the best property we have ever rented through VRBO. The home is absolutely stunning and beautifully furnished in a simple way. It has a warm and peaceful feel. The outdoor spaces connecting the three buildings are spectacular. We spent a lot of time just enjoying the grounds and the beautiful breezes. And the pool is lovely and very clean. The kitchen is so well stocked with quality cookware and dishes. The beds are so comfortable and the private baths were a luxury. We felt 100% safe at the home and in the town of Atenas. The view from house was just beautiful. We loved having the hills in our backyard and hearing the cows and sheep. Judd's website gives recommendations on wonderful local day trips, we took many of them. Pura Vida is our new motto! We ventured to the Pacific on two of our 7 days, and otherwise stayed close to Atenas and had no regrets. A perfect get-a-way during a New England winter!Judd and Leticia were so responsive to our questions. We enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Aaron, highly recommend.

Summary: The property, its upkeep and condition are as good as it gets for VRBOs. We’ve stayed at many over the years and this was definitely the most stylish. Most of the places we wanted to visit we’re farther away than we expected, at least an hour drive, but otherwise everything was great.

Summary: We've stayed at lots of VRBO sites over the years with our family of five and the communication from the owners and the property caretaker was lights out the BEST we have ever had! From the moment we booked almost a year ago we received travel advice and answers to questions promptly. The home is in a magical setting overlooking the mountains nearby. We were able to take in so many adventures from this central location---we ziplined in La Fortuna, saw the La Fortuna Waterfall and the Arenal Volcano, toured the Doka Coffee Plantation, visited Poas Volcano National Park and La Paz Waterfall Gardens, visited Carara National Park and Punta Leona Beach as well as resting at the house and taking in the peaceful surroundings. We loved all the restaurants that were suggested---empanadas at La Esquina de Los Colonchos, bocas at Pupuseria La Fiesta De Las, Chubasco's near Poas Volcano, and many sodas along the way. We also grocery shopped and found just what we needed. Using Waze was key for comfort on the roads. Leticia came to settle us in to the home AND she even picked up some breakfast groceries for us when our flight arrived in late. Judd and Liz (the homeowners) and Leticia (the property caretaker) made this an incredible family vacation for us!!! If you are thinking of heading to Costa Rica---BOOK this place now!

Summary: This is our first visit to Costa Rica and wow this place was beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. The hosts were great and we used all of their recommendations for excursions, drivers and taxi. We did not need to rent a car and after experiencing the driving we are so happy we made this decision. We will be back!
