Exceptional 200 year old barn conversion recently refurbished to the highest standard, (4* graded). Spacious and comfortable open plan accommodation featuring flagstone and pitch pine floors, exposed stone walls, vaulted ceilings with original beams, wood burning stove, huge leather, corner sofa/bed, (seating 6+), and quality furnishings throughout. Situated in the heart of the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan, (yet only 20 minutes drive from the centre of Cardiff and 10 minutes from the historic market town of Cowbridge), the property is surrounded on all sides by unspoilt countryside. The kitchen/diner and lounge benefit from uninterrupted views for many miles, down the Llancarfan valley and across the Bristol Channel towards Somerset. Excellent walking and riding country and an ideal base from which to explore South and West Wales, The Gower, Brecon, Wye Valley and beyond. The cottage can comfortably sleep 6 persons, (ideally 4 adults plus 2 children), however the substantial bed settee in the lounge offers the possibility to increase sleeping capacity by a further 2 persons if required. The cottage is situated at the edge of Llancarfan, one of the prettiest villages within the Vale with its historic church, (famous for it's recently discovered medieval wall paintings), pretty stream and ford, and its award winning pub; The Fox and Hounds.

Summary: We had a fantastic family holiday here. The house was very comfortable and clean and well appointed. Our grandson particularly appreciated the Brio Train Set and all the Lego....not to mention the Tarzan Swing along the lane. Our welcome pack was the best I have ever had. The situation is just beautiful and for us, just perfect for visiting our family in Barry. Only thing to flag up, as we arrived in the dark, we were looking for the Yellow Grit Bin, which isn't there now!!!! It didn't matter too much as we met a lovely young man from the property, who took us the last few metres. We do hope to go back in 2024

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Everything was as described and we received one of the best welcome packsever seen. Jon and Sian were brilliant hosts, attentive but not intrusive. The property has everything you need for a self catering stay and everything was comfortable and clean. The location was also really good. As a family with teens, it was lovely to have a beautiful setting but proximity to Cardiff for plenty of activities etc. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!

Summary: What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this fabulous cottage. My family and I stayed for a week 6-13 August 2022. The hosts really made you feel comfortable and was always on hand if you needed anything not that we did because everything is supplied. They really cater for their guests, washing machine, washing line, towels, etc even a nice welcome gift basket of cakes, bread, milk, which after a long journey is very welcoming. They have a couple of beautiful horses which are indeed very well looked after. It’s like a retreat where you can relax in the hotub, play cards or games, have a barbecue and go on little or long walks. The beds are oh so comfy. We highly recommend this property and if we could we would put more stars. Cardiff shopping is a must and the boat ride at Cardiff bay is fab and you must visit Barry Island which has rides for all, gift shops, restaurants and amusements. I could go on and on. You just need to book.

Summary: What a fantastic country farmhouse feel to this cottage with beautiful views, amazing hosts, lovely hot tub, a bed to die for and a wonderful fire to warm us up. We cannot recommend this cottage enough, with fantastic hosts who made us so very welcome, from welcome treats and lovely chats to letting our daughter join in with the horses, we will definitely be back!!! Thank you for a lovely much needed week away.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. The owners were friendly and helpful but not intrusive . We could have happily stayed in the cottage for the entire week enjoying the views, the peace and quiet and the hot tub. Ideally situated for country walks, Cardiff, the coastline, Brecon Beacons and more . The children loved sleeping in the attic bedroom and have insisted we return again which we would love to do as there is so much more to explore.
