It's breathtakingly lovely, starting with the fabulous screened-in front porch featuring a suspension "swing bed" and "swing table." The pretty kitchen is fully equipped, making preparing family meals a snap. The Living Room includes great views of the surrounding woods and a flat-screen Smart TV. The owner has recently had a fiber optics high-speed internet and cable system installed, the only such combo system to be found in a Daufuskie historic district vacation home.

There are lots of outside extras such as a hammock suspended between two trees, a fire pit, an outdoor hot/cold shower, and a garage for your rental golf cart. (We will help set up your rental cart with Tour Daufuskie, and it will be delivered directly to your house.)

Beach Road is just around the corner, and the best beach on the island is a 5 minute golf cart away.
This house is perfect for those who want to get off the beaten track and really get to know this unique and quirky island, including its warm and friendly residents. Visitors are given the opportunity to experience an island life that has all but disappeared from the Low Country region.

Getting Around:
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST TAKE A BOAT TO GET TO DAUFUSKIE ISLAND (WE HELP WITH THE LOGISTICS) AND YOU SHOULD PLAN TO SPEND APPROXIMATELY $65 PER PERSON ROUNDTRIP FOR BOTH BOAT AND GROUND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.
Please note that it is necessary to take a boat to Daufuskie Island. Costs vary depending on the service you choose, but on average you should plan on about $65-75 per person roundtrip for both boat & ground transportation. (Marina parking fees may also apply.)

PET POLICY:
Well-behaved canine family members are welcome, but must be adult dogs, housetrained, must stay off of furniture, not be incessant barkers, and must be friendly towards humans and other dogs. Upon departure, the vacation home should look as though no pet had been in it, including removal of pet hair. There is a pet fee of $125 for one dog, and $175 for two dogs.
In addition, the property manager must approve all pet requests. Your dog must be over one year old, not be aggressive towards people or other pets, be house trained, will not get up on the furniture, and is ok with being left alone when you are away from the cottage (e.g., no incessant barking or destructive behavior). We also ask that you be a responsible pet owner when the dog is outside, that there will be no signs that your pet was in the property when you depart, and that you will be responsible for any damage and/or extra cleaning caused by your dog.

Guests receive information and assistance from the DRG team, all of whom live on the island and who are available 24/7 for any problems.
