With funky Folly Beach style, this high-ceilinged beach getaway practically winks at you with sassiness from the get-go. Perched on the highest street on the island, its French limestone steps and dramatic corbels are a nod to this small beach community's eclectic and bohemian style.
Completely renovated but retaining its original structural footprint, this 1950s two-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow is kid- and pet-friendly, with all the comforts you expect for a beach vacation plus fantastic personal touches. Vaulted ceilings and polished, stained concrete floors are airy and bright. There's a queen-sized leather sleeper sofa and a twin-size-plus daybed in the main living area, where a French ad poster presides over the space with much of the same chic that met you at the door. Each bedroom has a king-sized bed, bedside lighting, ceiling fans, custom wardrobes, and flat-screen TVs with satellite and DirecTV. Pink-painted doors throughout the home will make you smile. Ceilings in the renovated bathrooms were crafted from the original timber floors. Both have walk-in showers with new stone tiles.
Amenities include 100 percent cotton linens, blankets and plenty of towels. There's also a new washer and dryer.
The picture window in the kitchen is a highlight of this home, a morning delight that frames the lush backyard and optimizes the light that is Folly's crowning glory. Granite countertops, custom cabinets and a cozy banquette make mealtimes (and happy hour!) a pleasure. The pebbled stone patio with dining table and seating area in the fenced-in, landscaped backyard invite you to take your coffee and meals al fresco. Admire the one-of-a-kind shell mermaid art while you're out there. There's a BBQ grill, too. And what's better than a private hot/cold outdoor rain shower?
To get to Folly's famous surf, exit the side gate and follow the quiet, grassy footpath about three blocks to the beach access path. When you're ready to head to the beach, just grab the beach cart and two beach chairs.
There's parking for three cars in the driveway. A couple blocks away is Folly Beach's Center Street downtown area, with its quirky shops, locally owned eateries, lounges, and nightlife. You can walk to Folly River Park and Folly Pier, where you can fish, crab or shag-dance with locals.

Summary: After years of staying on Folly, we've found our favorite home base! This charming bungalow has been completely and thoughtfully renovated, with two large king bedrooms on opposite sides of the living room for privacy. There is a bonus sleeping area off of the living room and two generous full baths with every amenity. High ceilings throughout enhance the sense of spaciousness the design elements are cheerful and stylish. The kitchen is inviting and well-organized, but we were too tempted by all of the restaurant options within walking distance to make full use of it. The fenced-in yard and lovely patio area double the gathering spaces; even the parking area is inviting and truly accommodates 3 vehicles and a golf cart (rare in this part of Folly). The location is ideal! We were on the beach in 3 minutes and walked to Burt's for provisions, Chico for live music, the pier for happy hour, Lost Dog for breakfast, and to many restaurants. We will be back!

Summary: Loved our stay at this cute little cottage. It’s small but well equipped! The two bathrooms were super convenient and the backward was perfection! Our little maltipoo loved having his own fenced area. The cottage is well maintained and the kitchen has all your basic needs. Really appreciated the generous supply of dishwashing cubes, laundry detergent cubes, trash bags and toiletries. We didn’t have to replenish during our five-night stay!!

Summary: This funky little cottage was perfect for my pup & me. When we arrived it was spotless & inviting. We had everything we needed. The fenced in back yard was beautifully landscaped & so great for my dog to play freely. It was near the center of things but was far enough away to be quiet & cozy. I look forward to coming back.
