This true Northern Michigan lake cottage is located on 1,600 acre all-sports Intermediate Lake just 3 miles North of Bellaire. Experience the beautiful Northern Michigan Sunrises overlooking the lake. Also, enjoy the loons as they make their unique calls in the morning and evening.
Intermediate Lake is great for swimming, skiing, boating, and fishing. It is nine miles long with direct access to the other lakes that make up the famous 'Chain-O-Lakes'. We have 230 feet of sandy beach, and our clear sandy swimming area extends out nearly 150 feet before dropping off, making it great for the kids. The views are incredible year around, especially during the fall color season.
Small towns are close by for wonderful shopping and some of the best dining you can imagine. Take adventures to the magnificent Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau Peninsula or Macinac Island, which are all reasonable day trips.

Summary: We have fallen in love with BelAire and this little resort. Spacious property. Nicely decorated. Clean. Such a neat place to return to after a day of activity. Hoping to stay here next year!

Summary: Very great home! Great kitchen ! Great bathroom ! Great living room! Bed mattresses definitely need replacing! The sponge top makes the sleeping very difficult! Take those sponge tops off! Unfortunately, there is not a view of the beach! You can see a tiny bit of the lake. The grass and outside area needs some care! And the cottages are close to each other and kind of scrambled. I would change the outdoor patio to be larger with a short fence around it and make it all level! There is only one parking space. It’s a little walk to beach. Even though I pointed these things out, the whole week was great with the water amazing! The docks were great! Finally, the big jumping dock in the water provided so much fun jumping and diving and playing!!!

Summary: My family and our friends (4 adults and 4 kids 5 & under) stayed at this location over labor day weekend and it was a perfect mix of having everything we needed on site, and being close to other places for short day trips! The house is close to other cabins located on the property, but we were not looking for a huge amount of privacy. The beach was shared by us and the other properties, but it was large enough we never found that to be an issue. If it had been warmer it would have be an amazing set up for the kids to swim, very clean and shallow. We also rented the pontoon directly from the owners as part of the trip and it was a perfect add on - the boat was in great shape, and Don came by to show us all we needed to know. We did not get lucky catching any fish, as we heard the lake can be tricky. Make sure to bring life jackets for any kids if you are out on the late, the officer was friendly but did stop us one evening to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is in a perfect spot that we were able to take short day trips to Charlevoix, Traverse City and Elk Rapids (each about 35-50 minutes drive). Down town Bellaire was also very cute, only about a 10 minute drive and had a few restaurants, shops and a grocery store. We cooked most days and the house had space to store food, and all the amenities needed to cook or grill. The house itself had an open family room / dining room / kitchen with 3 bed rooms and a pull out couch. The layout worked out great with the kids as we were able to close the doors at night while the adults stayed up, and they could be within eye sight while we made meals. The lady coming to clean the house showed up sharply at checkout time as we were getting everyone piled into the cars. We highly recommend this property, and would love to come back and visit in the future!

Summary: We had a wonderful time. Owners responded quickly to any questions we had. The only critique would be mice and lots of droppings. Very uncomfortable couch, but beds were wonderful .

Summary: Let's start by saying that we did generally enjoy our time at this property. Best part is (as described) the access to the sandy beach with the shallow water allowing younger kids to walk/swim to the platform. The one thing we did not get from the description is how close these 6 or so units (part of the resort) are to each other. We don't blame the owners for any misrepresentation at all but just stating the shortfall in our opinion. Another thing was the size of the unit that was very smartly turned into a 3 BR unit. In reality though, the 3rd BR is an entry hallway turned into room which works out fine but again in our case we probably weren't paying enough attention to the pictures or details and were expecting a larger space. Our one recommendation for the owners would be to replace or paint(?) the fridge, which immediately becomes an eyesore when you enter the unit and ruins the otherwise very nicely equipped kitchen. So overall, we can recommend this property to families because of the sandy, private and easily accessible beach.

Summary: I cant say enough how wonderful our quick trip was. Don and Kim were amazing hosts! They kept in touch and even offered ideas of places to visit. The place was clean and cute. My kids enjoying swimming, fishing, tubing, bonfires and exploring. Looking forward to booking with them again. Thank you!

Summary: We absolutely loved this cabin and Intermediate Lake. The beds were super comfortable (nice thick memory foam toppers). Its been beautifully redone and decorated inside. It doesn't have air conditioning. However, there are plenty of fans provided. There is a fireplace, but it has a sign that says not to use it. The kitchen is nicely appointed with almost all the things you'd expect. (No full size cookie sheet for French fries and tater tots?) There is even a set of nice, heavy nonstick frying pans and a blender for those frozen drinks that taste so good on the beach! The beach is beautiful. The kids spent HOURS playing in the sand. We watched them from the swing that was set in the perfect spot. The beach area has a nice mix of shade and sun so you can find a spot to meet your needs. The kids also loved the slide down by the beach and the playground area that is behind the cabins. The lake itself is a great size. Big enough to be fun with the small speed boat we brought, but small enough that it didn't get too choppy when the wind picked up. We were able to tie the boat up to the dock and leave it in the water. The water was the perfect temperature when we were there in August. There is a nice big raft for the kids to jump off in the water. Its perfectly positioned right at the drop off. On one side the water is about 3 or 3.5 deep. The other side is deep enough not to worry about hitting bottom when an adult jumps off. The lake hosts at least a couple pairs of loons and swans for your viewing and listening enjoyments. There are 2 fire pits shared by all the cabins at the resort. One of them is right near the shoreline and has plenty of chairs around it and another swing. The other is set kind of in the middle of the cabins. Wood is provided, but was really far away from the beach fire pit. I debated between giving this cabin 4 or 5 stars and the fire situation was one of the reasons. Call me antisocial, but we really perfer to have our own fire pit rather than a shared pit AND both of pits were too far from our cabin for me to feel comfortable staying out after we put our small kids to bed. The other reason I'd like to deduct half a star is the view of the lake from this cabin is obstructed. I found a spot on the back porch where I could read in the morning and see the lake, but I couldn't sit there and watch the kids play in the sand or see them if they were at the beach while I was cooking.
