Casa Boa Sorte is a spacious and beautiful air-conditioned villa nestling in the tranquil hillside of Cerro da Mesquita. The villa has recently undergone an extensive programme of refurbishment for the enjoyment and comfort of our guests, which includes Wi-Fi. All bedrooms are now ensuite and furniture and furnishings are of a very high standard. Specification includes Super King Vi-Spring mattresses, solid walnut low-end sleigh bed, rosewood and metal bedsteads and under floor heating to all bathrooms. Outside the villa now benefits from a large Kamado Joe BBQ, in addition to the traditional Portuguese BBQ, and rattan outdoor furniture.
The new pool cover ensures that the large roman ended heated salt (slight) water pool maintains the perfect temperature between use. The villa affords total privacy making it an ideal place to spend a family holiday, honeymoon or romantic break and enjoys spectacular uninterrupted and panoramic views across the valley with views out to the sea. Easily accessed from the main road and situated on a made up and lit private lane with off road parking for two cars, Casa Boa Sorte is just a few mins drive or bike ride from the delightful unspoilt town of Sao Bras de Alportel, once the cork capital of Portugal with its restaurants and all the facilities you'd expect to find in a small town including a choice of supermarkets including an Intermarche. Pavement cafe's are a plenty for times when you just want to enjoy a mouth watering cake and coffee and do a bit of people watching. Sao Bras is a favoured destination of some very well known celebrities who have come to relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere, so you never know who you might be sitting next to, as you widen your eyes and whisper "is that who I think it is" and the answer we can tell you is probably yes. But everyone respects their privacy. Leaving Sao Bras an easy 20 minute drive will take you to Loule, the coast and beaches, golf courses and Faro airport. Tavira and the Spanish border town Ayamonte are also within easy reach and Lisbon is a 2hr drive. With its unique microclimate and sheltered positon, Sao Bras is one of the Algarve's best kept secrets and the location couldn't be more ideal for exploring the best the region and the Algarve has to offer.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in mid Sept in this villa. The villa was so well equipped and the pool was immaculate. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy the views of the hills from the veranda, and the luxury of our own very private and big pool in the heat of the day. The villa has everything you could need to self cater, with a good choice of supermarkets and shops in Sao Bras. We liked that although the villa is very luxurious, it also.has a homely feeling, so we felt we could relax. We loved the little town of Sao Bras de Alportel, it really has everything you could want, with several restaurants a wonderful patisserie on the square and takeaways if you need them. It is not in any way touristy, but has an interesting history and very friendly locals. Worth noting though, most places don't take card and a lot is closed Sat from 1pm till Tuesday morning. There are ATMs in the town though, and it is worth finding the little carpark near the Santander bank which saves a lot of hassle trying to park on the street. We loved our first visit to Portugal, the villa owners were very good at communication, and helpful. Do ask their advice about hire cars as you will need one. We booked through the airline which was our only mistake. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

Summary: This property does not disappoint. My husband and I spent a relaxing week with our son, daughter-in-law, five year old granddaughter and thirteen week old twin grandsons at this beautiful villa. It has everything you would need for a wonderful holiday, including a very comfy shaded terrace/dining area with spectacular views. Communication with the hosts was excellent, including clear directions and instructions. They provided two travel cots and were very helpful in allowing us a later check out to accommodate the babies' feeds. During the heat of the day, the five year old could play in her bedroom or watch TV in the air-conditioned lounge. The pool was wonderful, much warmer than we had expected. The villa was spotless and well-maintained. A car is essential to get to local restaurants or shops and being so close to the airport, the easy transfer was a bonus with small children.

Summary: An excellent, well-appointed villa. The swimming pool is better than any we have enjoyed in other similar villa holidays worldwide / five star hotels. The finishing, furnishings, appliances, A/C were all of a very high standard. The views and the terraced gardens are a whole lot better than the internet pictures suggest. Michael was most accessible and helpful.

Summary: Very secluded and private villa which we loved. Easy to find with the directions provided. Close to supermarket and dinning facilities. Central for visiting various sites in the area. Lovely spacious pool and veranda were the highlights and made the holiday very special for the children.

Summary: The villa is well off the beaten track, even the local taxi drivers struggled to find it. It has stunning views morning, noon and night. The local town is a five minute drive and is very cheep for eating out (Lois chicken is a must), there are a few supermarkets if you choose to use one of the magnificent BBQ"s in the villa. The villa is well furnished and it was nice that all bedrooms were ensuite.

Summary: The property is most certainly 5* accommodation. The facilities are perfect and have everything you need plus lots more. The kitchen had every appliance you could hope for and had a lot of everything. We spent very little time if any in the lounge, that was predominantly used as a walk through to get outside. The outdoor seating was perfect, extremely comfortable. The pool was a great size and clean and deep with stunning views. The only slight negative would be that the shower head in the upstairs bathroom was faulty and the shower on offs took a bit of working out but it made no impact on our stay. It would also have helped to have a bit of a welcome pack to give some information on the area, local supermarket, restaurants etc. But again, we are quite adventurous so not a massive deal for us. Car is absolutely essential. We will def recommend and re visit the property. Thank you for our memorable stay.

Summary: We've recently returned from a 10 day stay at the villa and had a fantastic time. We were a family of 6 and there was more than enough space for us all. The villa was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The pool was perfect. There were some wonderful restaurants costing just a few euros in a taxi to get to, so only minutes away. The square in Sao bras is lovely too, a real unspoilt Portuguese town. The location was perfect for visiting tavina, faro and ayamonte in Spain, all approximately 30 minutes drive away and all definitely worth a visit. We also had a day trip to Lisbon which was fabulous; a long day but worthwhile. Overall a very enjoyable holiday.
