Positive: The view from the room was nice, would have loved to have a balcony to go out on to.
Negative: The price of the room was very high, for what you get. The restaurant menu was very limited, we actually got up and left, and didn’t order anything. Was very put off with the forced valet parking.
Summary: We loved Newport, but would never stay here again.

Positive: Wonderful location in Newport. We had a harbor view which was delightful. The food was surprisingly good … exceeded expectations for hotel food. Servers in restaurant and bar were great. Valets were also great with one exception (see below).
Negative: The room was very expensive and when we arrived found that there was a $30 “destination fee.” There was some complicated explanation about how we’d get some of that back if we charged drinks and food to the room, which we did. But this was still an added expense. Charge what the room is worth and don’t surprise guests with added cost, particularly since this is not a resort with amenities like golf or tennis or even a pool. The person who brought our car around ($48/day charge) gave me the keys without a word and did not help us load the bags into the vehicle. I found this almost shocking … just walked back into the hotel.
Summary: Lovely property, well located and overall a great stay.
