2 Bedroom Villa in Melrose on the Beach, Daufuskie Island

Remember there is no "BRIDGE" to Daufuskie. Your adventure would start with a choice of Private boat or ferry to Daufuskie. There is land transportation that would take you to your condo. Of course to get around the island you would need a golf cart which is included.. This 2 bedroom/2bath Villa is located in the Melrose Plantation. Daufuskie Island is accessible only by boat! The Villa is a short 250 ft walk to beach. The Villa has two bedrooms very nicely decorated, one king with en suite bath with huge shower & spa tub. Second bedroom, two queens and ensuite bath with double vanity, both have tv & mini fridge & private entrances. The Villa and especially it's kitchen are well stocked so you can enjoy your vacation.. Enjoy coffee and breakfast on the your own private screened porch among live oaks and Spanish moss while planning your day. If you like photography, the scenery alone is worth the trip. Nature wise, you'll see tons of egrets, storks, cranes and a possible eagle here and there, and gators in the fresh water ponds. The island is a great place to explore! Very little vehicles on the island outside of golf carts, it is a walkers/runners paradise. Miles of trails with exceptional views. From the beach you will see Hilton Head Harbour Town lighthouse from one direction and Tybee Island from the other direction . This magnificent Villa on Daufuskie is the perfect place for Relaxing and making family memories! While Southern provides you an initial supply of toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and trash bags to get you through your first 24 hours, we recommend you bring the following: Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Trash Bags, Hair Dryer, Napkins, Condiments, Spices, Dish Washing Liquid, Laundry Soap, Coffee and Coffee Filters, and Sunscreen, Anything else you may need for your perfect vacation! Melrose Pool open is open for the season! There is a charge for entrance to pool.

Summary: The property was perfect for us. Exactly the right size, and had EVERYTHING we needed and could even think of. Very well equipped, clean place and the screened porch was perfect for morning coffee and dinners! Susan was amazing in helping set up land transportation and helped getting us settled in. We can’t wait to go back!

Summary: The property was great! We were so close to the beach and the golf cart provided was so fun. It was very relaxing. We took a day trip to Hilton Head Island and were so glad we stayed on a more laid back island. Taco night at D'Fuskie's Eatery was delicious! We could see fireworks from the beach on the 4th too. We look forward to going back.

Summary: We had such a wonderful week stay here. The rental was super clean, the location was wonderful. The paint was fresh and updated and not “rental worn” at all. Susan was a great hostess and everyone in the island was very pleasant and hospitable. We’ll be back!

Summary: The villa was very nicely appointed and equipped and the screened in porch was phenomenal. Short walk to the beach and the beach bottom is a lot firmer than the beach down by the beach club which tends to get squishy from all the tidal sediment from the sound. I would rate 5 stars but unfortunately we had some electrical/mechanical issues with the HVAC in bedroom and a microwave that were a bit aggravating. There was a power outage on island due to a tropical storm that passed through 2 days before our stay and then intermittent power flickers for the first few days of our stay so that probably had something to do with it. Susan and Ron were very responsive in trying to fix the situation and we were able to manage through it.

Summary: Everything was as expected or better! This was our second stay in Daufuskie in a similar condo, and this one was much more updated with very comfortable beds. We loved the porch area the most, especially on a rainy day. Susan was fantastic - very responsive and accommodating when we needed to leave early. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway!
