Ideal for families, couples or single people. The Island has several several beaches, opportunities for boating, fishing, golf, rafting, tennis, music, etc. It is ideal for biking, bird watching, runners.

Summary: Overall we enjoyed our time in Kate home. The bathing beach is a 10 minute walk, but you can purchase a day permit. The area is beautiful!

Summary: Wonderful nature beautiful sky and moon. We loved Shelter Island - Kate’s house is roomy with a large backyard to see deer and nature Close walk to beach where we could walk along and enjoy Would highly recommend !

Summary: The pictures do not do it justice. It has new bathrooms and a new kitchen. there is no outside picture of the house on VRBO and it is very pretty and bigger than expected. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean when we arrived. Since it is a one block walk to the beach, we did not use the outdoor decks nor backyard. We hope to return again.

Summary: The location of this house is great. Hay Beach is the best beach on Shelter Island and it was a quick walk from the house. While there were a few maintenance issues that popped up during our stay, Kate was always easy to reach. Even when the power went out in a storm. There was enough room for our party and we spent a lot of time on the back deck.

Summary: The house was large enough for my group and clean. I have some concerns about renting again with this owner. The home itself needs attention. The outside decking is very weak and unsafe in areas and needs to be replaced immediately. The top step on the back of the house is breaking away. The gutters are clogged.And the house needs a good power wash. We couldn’t use the outside the picnic umbrella because it was broken. On the interior, The stairwell needs a railing. Finally there is mold in the lower half of the house. The smell is over powering and is deemed uninhabitable.

Summary: My family and I enjoyed a relaxing 4 days at Kate’s place. For all of us it was not only our first time booking a home but also visiting Shelter Island. Both experiences exceeded our expectations. The house was great, open with great light, and extremely comfortable for our group of 8. The house is wonderfully located just mins from everything the IGA market, the town center and most importantly the beach. Kate was super prompt in her communications and We can’t wait to make another visit to this wonderful island and home. Kate thank you for a wonderful time.
