Casa Salinas is an authentic fisherman's house in the style of the Algarve. It is located in the historic center of Olhão, close to many wonderful restaurants and cafés, the famous fish and vegetable markets, numerous shops and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The house is within walking distance of the ferry to the beautiful coastal islands and some of the best beaches in Portugal. Casa Salinas is just 15 minutes drive from Faro Airport, 40 minutes to the Spanish border and 30 minutes to many of the famous Algarve golf courses along the coast. The hilly landscape, which is located near the coast, is full of natural beauty, farms, plantations and vineyards and is a great place for hiking and relaxing.
This hinterland has many charming and original historic towns and villages, characterized by culture and tradition, and are a must for a trip to the Algarve.
This fully renovated three-storey townhouse has been lovingly restored with care to preserve the authentic charm of an Algarve-style house. This beautiful corner house has all day sunshine and breathtaking views of the marina and the nearby islands.
On the ground floor there are two cozy bedrooms with luxurious double beds and a bathroom with shower / WC. Two double doors on the first floor open the kitchen / living area to a spacious terrace. It is a real treat to enjoy meals or a drink on this south-facing sun terrace.
The upper terrace offers a fantastic view over the rooftops of this beautiful old town and is a great place to relax.

Summary: This is a good summertime property. The terraces are great but if the weather is bad the kitchen/living area lacked a little in comfort. The property was well-appointed.

Summary: Had a wonderful weeks stay at Casa Salinas which is located on a quiet street close to the centre of Olhao. Smooth check in with Patricia who explained how everything worked and was very easy to contact on arrival. The house is beautiful, well equipped and lovingly restored. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Summary: James and his local representative, Patricia, were the perfect hosts and did everything possible to make an enjoyable stay. We usually hire a car, but didn't this time; it was rge right decision. Uber to and from Faro airport is easy and once there, the trains work well (although the timetable us more aspirational than real). Fares are very low by UK standards. Plenty of places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk. Suitable for couples, but steep stairs may rule it out if you have mobility issues or if you're a young chikd.

Summary: We went in Olhao to spend few days on the ocean and looking for a great place, this house was above our expectations and we had a very nice experience. We liked the house, is very well organized, clean with a lot of space to enjoy and relax. Casa Salinas is in a very good position in the center of Olhao a very nice village calm and quite, far from crowded location of Algarve and were you can enjoy a genuine atmosphere and a great local market with fresh fish and vegetables. Our host provided us a lots of good suggestions were to go and we enjoyed all the Ria Formosa islands and beaches of Armona and Culatra, and then again near Faro Vale do Lobo and then Prai do Barril, Cacela Velha, Tavira and other nice location. Definetely an amazing experience and a place where to come back again.
