If you're looking for a beautiful LA oasis in the middle of the city with a private pool/hot tub and total resort vibe, then 'Casa de Cleon' is the place for you.
This 2 bdrm/2 bath California ranch-style home is truly unique and a great LA home away from home. The 2,100 sq ft. home was built in 1937, and has an inviting art nouveau feel to it. My husband and I have completely renovated it to transform it into a sanctuary in the middle of the city and have added lots of modern amenities while still retaining it’s charm and style.
The warm interior offers Brazilian pecan hardwood floors throughout, a spacious formal dining room, an elegant music/parlor/library room complete with a baby grand piano (and lots of books!), a full galley-style kitchen with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances with an open floor plan that steps down into a cozy sunken living room. The living room has a comfortable sectional that also makes into a queen bed with a brand new memory foam mattress that can also sleep 2. This room is perfect for lounging in and watching movies on the big screen tv with full surround sound!
The front bedroom is drenched in natural light (thanks to a big bay window) and has a brand new queen-size bed with velvet headboard. The front bathroom has a full shower/bath and all the amazing original tile from the era in tact. The tranquil master bedroom offers a California King bed, a spacious walk-in closet and an ensuite with an amazing steam shower, oversized bath tub, enclosed toilet and double sink marble vanity. French sliding doors open from the master and music room onto the large Tiger wood deck with jacuzzi tub. A perfect spot for morning yoga or birdwatching and a cup of coffee. French sliders also open from the living room out onto the giant backyard.
This home sits on a 16,000 square ft double lot so there is plenty of space to stretch out. One of the best features is the large backyard area which has a newly built outdoor kitchen, dining area, outdoor shower/bathroom and lounging area and the enormous Van-Halen approved pool (this house has amazing history!). Living in Southern California, we subscribe to ‘alfresco living’ and enjoy this backyard space a lot!
Please note: We also have a guesthouse on the other side of the main house that is currently rented to a fantastic executive from the midwest who travels a lot and looks after things while we’re away at our summer place in Montana. You will probably rarely see him but the backyard area is a common space and shared between the main house and the guest house. We are really looking to share our property with guests who are easy-going, positive, responsible folks who play well with others and will take care of our property as their own and enjoy it. This really is a ‘home away from home’ kind of place and a nature sanctuary.

Summary: My husband, sons (17 & 13), & I stayed here this Christmas. Out of all the many things we did around LA, our favorite part of the trip was staying at Casa de Cleon.The house was filled with charming touches. Every piece of art and Christmas decoration contributed to the peaceful vibe. Most of the lights were on dimmers. I loved that the Keurig could make iced coffee, & I appreciated the washer/dryer.We spent mornings together in the library/music room, the boys playing piano while I perused the collection of books. We played poker in the dining room. And we relaxed together watching movies in the living room. There were plenty of spots for us to gather, & there was so much room for us to spread out!My older son took the guest bedroom--he liked that he had a TV to himself, & he appreciated the privacy. My younger son slept on the pull-out sofa in the living room, & he loved it; it was comfortable, the view out the window in the morning was gorgeous, & he enjoyed the proximity to the kitchen. My husband & I adored the master bedroom & bath. We loved the double sinks, deep tub, & the shower. I loved the huge walk-in closet. The bedroom was serene. I enjoyed melting into the very comfy bed and gazing at the stars in the curtains.It was too chilly to swim, but we did love the Jacuzzi.Jen was a pleasure to work with. She was accommodating & made great recommendations. The only problem we had with Casa de Cleon was that we loved it so much, we hated to leave!

Summary: We had a great stay at Casa de Cleon! Jen and Steve were fantastic hosts, very easy to reach for any questions and had there been a problem during our stay I am confident it would have been remedied quickly! She also gave us great recommendations on restaurants in the area and was so invested in us having a great experience. It made us feel truly like welcome guests and not an anonymous client. The home is beautiful and the outdoor space is amazing! We packed our time in LA with activities, so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the outdoor kitchen, but it looked amazing. The pool, hot tub and outdoor bath were so great! We used them almost every afternoon/evening while we were there. The beds were super comfy, I slept so well on this trip! Well stocked kitchen, plentiful toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, tissues, toilet paper, laundry detergent), and very clean! It was so nice not to have to buy supplies at the grocery store for our stay! The location was great, so easy to get to several of the things we had planned to do/visit in LA. Quiet neighborhood, grocery store nearby. Very happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Summary: This home was perfect for my family and I. Perfect location to stores and freeways. It was well stocked with everything you needed in the kitchen. We had enough towels for both inside and out. Can’t say enough about the outdoors. The pool and barbecue area were perfect to hang out. Fully stocked with fridges, plates and cups. We spent a lot of time lounging out by the pool and making memories with the family. Thank you so very much Jen & Steve for sharing your beautiful home with us, we can’t wait to return. Summary: Casa De Cleon is a very clean and relaxing place to have when vacationing in the LA. Area. The pool, hot tub, bbq area is spectacular, after a long day at Disneyland, Universal Studios or just site seeing to come back to the Casa for a swim or hot tub or just to relax this is the place for you.
