Perfectly situated within Shanty Creek resort, it's your gateway to Northern MI treasures. With 5 golf courses, Torch Lake adventures, breweries, and wineries nearby! New Hot Tub and beach access!

The space
This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom classic wood cabin is centrally located to several major Northern Michigan hubs - Bellaire, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Traverse City all within close driving range! The cabin's open layout comfortably accommodates 8 guests, whether you're gathering around the fire place to watch your favorite golfer or gather around the table to enjoy your favorite meal! The home is furnished with a queen size memory foam pillow top mattress in the loft, a queen size memory foam pillow top mattress in "The Slopes" bedroom and a full size pillow top mattress in "The Sticks" bedroom. Lastly, we have two bonus twin beds in the downstairs common space!
Our coffee bar features your choice of french press, brewing a pot for friends and family, or making yourself an individual cup! The kitchen is equipped with new silverware, pots, pans, plates and more. The dining room is set for 6 but we have extra chairs to seat 2 extra guests available!

Summary: We were in need of a family weekend away and this house was an excellent fit. Mom/Dad and 4 kids. The upstairs loft was very comfortable for the parent and the kids enjoyed the individual and shared rooms (11 & 14) year old girls were up late working on new lingo... which I am far too old to understand. The house has a great hot tub which I enjoyed every morning and evening. It was also very clean throughout the house. The two leather couches easily fit the family of 6 when we turned on some evening TV/Movie. The simplistic refinement fit very well and the decorations were enjoyable. I have newly acquired property about a mile from the chair lifts, it was great to have a comfortable location to get over and review the initial house plans. Easy to get into town, and even bumped into Joe Short at Shorts brewery on Saturday before the Grateful Dead cover band started up across the street.

Summary: We loved the space. The beds and bedding were comfortable, and the space was really relaxing. The water pressure isn't great, but we loved the hot tub and deck overlooking the golf course. Saw deer most days and a pileated woodpecker. If you're a light sleeper, don't sleep in the loft area because you'll hear anyone moving around in the night. Still, we would stay here again. :)

Summary: We chose this property for its location and the space provided even though there were no reviews at that time. And those two things did not disappoint. There were no exterior photos, so we weren't sure if it was a house or multi-unit building, but were please that it was a house. We took advantage of the nearby golf course, and it was a short drive into Bellaire for shops and restaurants. Shorts Brewing pizza and beer was a highlight, and we also went to the cinema. We went to several nearby villages on Torch Lake, and spent an afternoon on a Lake Michigan beach finding Petoskey and Charlevoix stones. The property was comfortable, but does not feel like someone has really stayed there much. Suggested improvements: some attention to the bathroom doors - they do not open and close easily and are quite noisy; lower level shower drainage; more towels - there are no kitchen towels, and only one washcloth per bathroom with limited hand towels; more shelves in bathrooms; and a good sweep of the exterior entry stairs and deck. Another thing to note, the style and vintage nature of the construction means you can hear everything - so take note if you are sensitive to the noise of other people in the house. The digital Welcome Packet was sent to us a few days before arrival, and it listed a pass to the beach at Lake Bellaire as one of the amenities, but this was not actually there at the property. The owners offered to get a new one, but we did not need it for our activities.
