The Sea\Board Suite is situated on 2 acres of open and private property at the edge of the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. Guests will enjoy beautiful country and pond views from the large living area windows. Located 5 miles from Sandbridge Beach and 9 miles from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Boardwalk and Convention Center. This unique location puts you within an easy drive to all of Virginia Beach and surrounding area attractions.
The 1,100SF suite includes a main living area, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and an additional 300SF game/room/garage/utility room. Additional Homeshare offerings are available. See the "Guest Access" section below for additional information!
The bedroom has two comfortable Twin XL beds that are typically combined into a King with plush topper. Up to two twin size fold-out beds can be placed main living area.
The outdoor patio features a deck and gazebo, fire pit, sitting table, gas and charcoal grills with an amazing view of the property and neighboring ponds. At The Sea\Board Country Suite you can enjoy wildlife and a break from your wild life!
The kitchen is well stocked with prep, cooking and eating essentials to accommodate either a short or long term stay. High speed Internet, cable TV, connected streaming sticks, linens, towels, paper products, cleaning/sanitizing supplies and games/toys for most ages (please consider your own for children under 2 years old). A clean booster chair and pack and play are available upon request.
The garage has been equipped with a hang-out area, dart board, card table as well as a washer, dryer and full size fridge/freezer. Beach equipment (towels, chairs, coolers, etc.) are included! Guests are also free to use the garage for covered parking or secure personal storage!
Pets will enjoy the well maintained property inside and out! There are extra bowls and leads available and we do request that visiting dogs remain on leash until they have become accustomed to the natural environment and chickens. The "Golden Girls" are well contained but free range for 1-2 hours each day.
There are no cameras in the rental space or monitoring guest areas. Security and wildlife cameras are in place monitoring these areas: Driveways, Owner's front door (2nd level), Chicken coup, Gardens and Barn. The microphone on the router in the guest living room will be disabled (orange light).
Guest Access:
As part of our Homeshare offerings, guests are also offered additional areas including the owner's primary kitchen for preparing large family meals and vaulted ceiling bathroom with 7' soaking tub! In a hurry to pack up and need an extra washer/dryer? We've got you covered!
-Owner approval required for additional visitors beyond named guests on reservation.
-Pet Fee: $100/pet - Please be mindful of pets in the bedroom and do not allow on beds.
-We highly recommend that visiting dogs be walked on leash until they become comfortable on the property.
-Additional Guest Fee: $15 per person per night (above 3 guests or 2 beds)
-Primary renting party must be at least 21 years of age.
-Reservations over 14 days during May-September are not permitted. Please do not request or complete long term bookings during this period as they will have to be canceled.
-Outside quiet hours: 9pm-7am. Inside quiet hours: 11pm-6am.
-Smoking is only allowed outside. All trash must be discarded in provided receptacles.
-Furnishings subject to change at owner discretion.

Summary: While my stay took place in the midst of winter, this was still such a lovely property to enjoy and provided much solitude. My guest and I loved the fire pit and just walking outdoors with my two dogs. The beds were probably the comfiest that I’ve ever slept in! Jeremiah and Victoria were fantastic communicators as well. I did a good bit of work from home here and the Internet connection was rapid speed.

Summary: Jeremiah and Victoria’s property was tranquil and peaceful which was very needed. My daughter adores chickens and loved being able to see the Golden Hokies every day. We’ve been vacationing in VA Beach for 8 years and I believe this is by far our favorite stay. The hosts were very communicative and I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you very much for a lovely vacation!

Summary: This place was a hidden gem. The host, Jeremiah was extremely responsive, kind, and overall amazing! The golden Hokies (chickens) were adorable and the property was quaint and had everything we needed - from beach chairs, to coolers, to bug spray. Which was a plus! The farm fresh eggs and wine were an amazing touch. We absolutely loved our short stay and recommended this spot for a getaway. :)

Summary: My family and I had a great time staying at the SeaBoard. Hosts Jeremiah and Victoria were very welcoming, on top of every need and provided some wonderful welcoming touches upon our arrival. The seaboard is a super comfortable stay (we were there an entire week) and close to the beaches and endless dining and entertainment options. My family and I frequent the Sandbridge area whenever we have the chance and would certainly love to stay at the seaboard again in the near future. :)

Summary: Jeremiah and Victoria are wonderful hosts, generously sharing their little slice of Heaven amid the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolitan area. The location is central to everything, an easy drive to the oceanfront, yet tucked into a sweet little pocket adjoining a nature preserve. With 2 acres of well-kept, open yet private land, a gazebo, a fire pit, and ample outdoor seating... it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy some down time. They have also generously provided beach equipment and games for guests to use. Accessibility is a major factor for us. This property has a flat entry and no stairs to navigate, with a wide, open great room. Even though it is a walkout terrace-level apartment in the hosts' home, it felt very private. Jeremiah was very open and engaging, very welcoming and available when needed, yet not intrusive at all. We felt very comfortable in this setting. We loved having the chickens close by, and we loved the half dozen eggs the hosts left on the table for us on arrival. We are from the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area originally and travel there to visit family/friends fairly often. We would definitely stay again, whenever we are not in our RV. We would highly recommend this property and appreciate the great stay!

Summary: We rented to be close to our son and his family while visiting. We chose Seaboard because of its location, it was close to Sandbridge beach also. We loved how peaceful and quiet it was in the country. The fresh chicken eggs were a nice surprise and very appreciated. If we need someplace to stay again we would definitely rent from Shefields again.

Summary: It is a special place away from the busyness of virginia beach boardwalk, yet less than 20 minutes from tourist attractions. The owner takes excellent care of the property inside and out. If you are a bird watcher, this is your place. The owner is friendly, supportive, and thoughtful.
