Positive: The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are very cozy. The public Onsen’s were amazing and perfect after long days in Tokyo.
Negative: Not so much a dislike, but it’s very traditional and it can throw people off if they aren’t used to that. It’s not a spa in the western mindset.

Positive: The staff were super pleasant and helpful, even giving me directions to the fireworks festival nearby. The food was delicious and the hot springs are definitely worth it. The surrounding area of Lake Ashi is also beautiful and great for walks through the nearby forests or along the shore.

Positive: The private bath was awesome. The food was delicious just note that there is a lot of it so come with an empty stomach. The staff was very kind and helpful.

Positive: We loved Yoshimatsu. The property and gardens are gorgeous; the room was extremely spacious and comfortable, and we loved our private onsen, as well as the public onsen. We also enjoyed the beautiful dinner service in our room, and the lovely and comfortable yukata.
Negative: Our teenagers found the very authentic cuisine to be a bit challenging, but we all appreciated the magnificent service and presentation.
