Positive: This location is great. It is right in the center of things and an easy walk to all the main tourist sites. The host was very responsive to my questions and tried diligently to address my concerns.
Negative: The apartment is right next to at least three bars that play loud dance music until 1am and not very well soundproofed. The music starts in early afternoon. I was aware that the apartment was located in a lively area and there would be street noise, etc --- but had no idea how loud the music would be. We could not carry on a conversation sitting next to each other on the couch. We also didn't have internet for most of the stay. The host worked hard to address this (apparently a service provider issue) and sent a maintenance person over right away to address our other concerns, but it was frustrating.
Summary: A good place for people who want to enjoy the night life in OSJ, not for relaxing.

Positive: Great location, easy walk to anywhere in Old San Juan. The house had everything we needed.
Negative: As other reviews stated, it was LOUD at night. So loud you could not hear each other in the living room at night. The house is surrounded by bars, so a lot of partying was going down.

Positive: Great location, very central and beautiful place. If you stay here is important to know that there are several bars around so you will get a lot of noise at night, however rooms are not affected by this, only the living room. Host very responsive!
Negative: Not much to complain. Only the noise at night but is manageable.

Negative: There are many bars and clubs surrounding this location with music all night.

Positive: Three bedrooms as advertised in old San Juan
Negative: The apartment is directly On San Sebastián street. in between two bars and two night clubs. the music was BLARING and people party and screaming until 4 am. when we left for an early flight at 6 am the music was still bumping from the night clubs. it was really absurd. the apartments common area is smaller than it looks in pictures. the communication about property information was subpar. I had to call to get instructions to get into the apartment and then had to ask in a separate communication for the the WiFi info. The irony of it all is that the staff made sure I understood that there was a very strict sound curfew in the building. it was quite laughable given the party atmosphere.
