Stanton Lodge is a handsome, spacious,stone-built house in the attractive village of Rowsley. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are close by ( with good walks to each) and the house is an excellent base for exploring all the attractions of the Peak District from walks and cycle rides to steam trains at Matlock and the famous underground caverns at Castleton.
The house has a sunny garden and patio and off-street parking for up to three cars. The accommodation is well-appointed and will sleep up to seven people. There is a large beamed sitting-room with sofas, a fire, TV and DVD and WiFi; a separate dining room with teak furniture; and a fitted modern kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The king-sized bedroom and twin bedded room are both large with fitted wardrobes and the latter has a vanity unit /wash basin. There is a smaller double and a single bedroom. The upstairs bathroom has an electric shower over the bath and there is a an additional shower-room also with WC and wash basin.

Summary: The house is well located so near to lots of great places to visit, and handy for walks into the beautiful countryside. We had a lovely relaxed week, the house is well equipped and very comfortable and homely. The washing machine very helpful with 2 babies in our party. Summary: My wife and I enjoyed our weeklong stay. It's location was perfect for our walking and sightseeing activities...Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall are very close We were able to take several walks directly from the property. The property is quite spacious inside and it met all of our needs. We especially appreciated the washing machine. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in the English countryside, I would recommend this property.

Summary: We found Stanton Lodge very comfortable and convenient, well appointed and situated. Everything was in excellent order on arrival, and we all felt that our stay was one of the best we have had in recent years. It was possible to go for a variety of country walks directly from the house, and we enjoyed visiting the Flour Mill just down the road. It was also easy to make short trips by car to interesting towns and beautiful countryside. The Post Office proved handy for obtaining emergency supplies. Sitting in the Spring sunshine in the garden was especially good. Overall a very memorable week's holiday.

Summary: Nice house (well described in the advert) with lovely kitchen and sitting room. Kitchen is great with all equipment and utensils needed and bedrooms are comfortable and linen clean. The landlord is very helpful and the neighbours were very friendly. A great base for a holiday in the peaks.
