Positive: The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The common areas were well attended to, clean and luxurious feeling.
Negative: The room was in less than desirable shape considering the price point of the stay. The carpet was coming up from the transition strip of the entrance of the room into the bedroom area and around the sliding glass door to the balcony. There was a stain on a pillowcase on one of the beds. One of the lights did not work for the duration of our stay. We found an old potato wedge in the bathroom cubby behind the towels when we first arrived. The hot water from the sink and the tub/shower was so hot I nearly burned my hands trying to wash them and I was unable to bathe my children because the water was either boiling hot or cold. There were also a number of gnats in the room when we first arrived. While the staff were very helpful it was our first time staying at this particular location so we were unfamiliar with some of the procedures/policies and they were not very clearly communicated which was frustrating at times.
Summary: The staff were wonderful but the state of the room was ridiculous bordering on unacceptable.

Negative: I didn’t like the bathtub. Compared to the sink, the sink provided hotter water than the bathtub. The bathtub had noticeable molding which wasn’t applied properly. Also there was slight mold spot on the shower curtain. After flushing you could hear the toilet running, and after the water in the sink was turned off: you could hear water dripping on the sink for about two minutes afterwards. <sigh>. The sound of water dripping in the sink loudly was very irritating, especially arriving back to the hotel late and atrempting to get some rest. If the other rooms don’t provide a stand up shower or an option for one, possibly consider a remodel for this hotel. I expected more from this Hilton, especially for the price and location.
Summary: My stay was subpar.

Positive: Beautiful view, comfortable beds. Convenience to a great restaurant downstairs. Staff was very friendly. Loved the live music on Friday and Saturday night after the event. Overall, we had a great time and an excellent stay. Enjoyed the rooftop bar!
Negative: I didn't care for the "Old Virginia Beach" picture hanging in our room as it is a stark reminder of the history of Virginia Beach and its separatism. One of our towels had what appeared to be rust stains on them.
