Positive: The place is really nice, the rooms cosy and comfortable, and the staff is kind, friendly. The restaurant is pretty good, specially on Saturdays, when there's an excellent buffet (rest of the days, there's a menu, which is good, but not very varied). Location is just average, not specially pretty, not ugly. It's just convenient to visit Torres del Paine NP, which is a 45' drive from there. Most the accommodations (not counting the camping) inside the national park are far more expensive, so El Ovejero is a good compromise, a good choice for those who want good accommodation at an affordable cost and don't mind driving back and forth to the park every day.
Negative: As already said, location is just average.

Positive: Is a very good option nearby torres del paine as it is very cozy and confortable, but taking into consideration is in the middle of nowhere, they should really improve the open buffet
Negative: Dinner cost us 40USD as an open buffet per person and food was really bad and really no options. If you want to sleep more than 6am is not yout hotel as all people get up at that time and go for breakfast and is really noisy at that time
Summary: 40 USD bad buffet for dinner. Very noisy.

Positive: The facilities are gaucho style and nicely decorated. Bathroom facilities are modern with good supply of hot water. It is a good base to drive to Torres del Paine that is about an hour away. If you have a car, we found out that it is more convenient to stay here than in Puerto Natales. The place is busy with bookings for puma sightseeing. The restaurant has a nice all you can eat buffet at supper (about $42usd if paid in Chilean pesos). There is no a la carte menu, so it feels expensive, especially if you are not really hungry. Captive audience and food is expensive these days. The breakfast is diverse. Fruit salad one morning, but none the other. In Cerro Castillo there is a nice souvenir shop and they also sell trail snacks and empanadas among other things.
Negative: It was unfortunate that our room was on the side of the building that faces their maintenance facility (no view). Construction with banging noises went on until 9pm and before 8am there was delivery truck noises.
