Positive: Absolutely faultless. The photos don’t do it justice—the views are breathtaking, even in a storm. With books, a telescope, games, movies, a pool, and exceptional food, there’s no shortage of things to enjoy on site. The surrounding hikes are spectacular, and Elia and the team made sure every need was met. The communal setup creates space for connection without compromising privacy—relaxed, spacious, and truly unforgettable. So special we extended our stay, we will be recommending to everyone.

Positive: Couldn't recommend enough. We were welcomed in as if we were family. The food was absolutely incredible & the portions generous. The views are breathtaking. The hikes around Rangala House are easy but epic all the way through. We had the best stay. We will be back!

Positive: Rangala House is a true outstanding place to stay. The situation is stunning, with wonderful verandah. It is social with seamless mixing with other guests and staff, and with many excellent self guided local walks from the house, We felt like we were staying with family they were so kind and easy. Any hiking expeditions to the Knuckles are very easily arranged (as can golf I understand). The food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka (and we had outstanding meals at Rangala). Our many thanks to Anthony, Sam and all the staff. We were very sorry to leave. We would return at any opportunity (as most visitors would desire). Note we stayed for 4 nights and would not have wanted to stay for anything shorter.

Positive: Rangala House is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. From when you walk through the door off the mountain road and are greeted by the owner and staff and see the breathtaking view from the balcony area, the high standard of accommodation and professionalism of the staff is very apparent. The interior is beautifully furnished, rooms very comfortable, the food is 5 star and the views and garden absolutely stunning. We also loved walking through the nearby tea plantations which the owner provides detail advice about. It was perfect and a credit to the vision of the owner.
Negative: Absolutely nothing.

Positive: What a special, special place! Despite only, regretfully, staying for one night, it was our favourite night of our whole 3 week trip to Sri Lanka. Unassuming from the roadside, once you step through the gates it’s a tropical paradise. The views are AMAZING- you could spend all day sat on the deck just staring out onto the horizon. The staff are the warmest most welcoming people, they are so so caring and just couldn’t be any nicer- we were so well looked after, especially when our taxi was late they came up with plans B and C to help us get to our next destination! We also enjoyed finding out about the history of Rangala from Anthony (the owner) and how they produce a lot of their own products on their 2 acres of land! They also have a restaurant in Bristol which, after tasting the food, we definitely will visit. The food was the best we ate during our whole stay. Who knew celery soup would be SO tasty and delicious?! Not to mention the Sri Lankan omelet we had for breakfast- it was incredible. The room was cosy and very comfortable, we loved listening to the animals before falling to sleep! You won’t regret your stay here. Thank you to Anthony and team for sharing your wonderful place with us.

Positive: The most amazing place, absolutely stunning setting with the most beautiful views. Mesmerising sunset. Wonderful hosts. We felt so at home and welcome. We had breakfast and dinners here, both of which were delicious. And so many wonderful walks to do locally. Thank you for an incredible stay!

Positive: Rangala House is a very special place. The setting is so peaceful and beautiful, with a panoramic view that changes almost every time you blink. The staff are wonderful. Amala will help you with whatever you need and there is always someone around to serve drinks and food and to chat to about the gorgeous surroundings. They organised an Ayurvedic massage for us with a local man which was wonderful. Anthony, the owner, is incredibly warm and welcoming and a joy to be around. The chefs deserve a very special mention. The food at Rangala House was probably the best we had throughout the month we spent in Sri Lanka. As two backpackers travelling on a budget, we are so happy we decided to splurge a little and stay here - it was worth every penny. Thank you all!
