An open-concept living room, kitchen, and dining area greet you as you enter the house from the entry stairs. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on this level. The second floor has a master bedroom with an ensuite bath, a guest bedroom with an ensuite bath, and another guest bedroom.

The laundry room offers a full-size washer and dryer which are available for use during your stay.
Guests are welcome to use various beach and recreation items. This often includes reclining beach chairs, a beach wagon, boogie boards, tennis equipment, and cornhole boards but may vary throughout the season.
For our young guests, we provide a pack 'n' play (byo sheet), high chair, and children's dinnerware.
We provide a starter supply of the following: toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent. Depending on your length of stay, you may need to bring more.
Parking is available for up to 4 vehicles (2 under the house and 2 in the driveway). Street parking and RV parking is not permitted.
Dog Friendly: Up to two dogs (house-trained) are allowed in the home and must be included on the reservation to be approved. Cats and/or any other pet animals are not permitted. We provide a crate, dog bowls, and bags for dog poop disposal. The neighborhood and beach are also dog-friendly (dog must be on a leash at all times when outdoors).

We are available 9am-6pm via platform messaging/email. While we do not reside full-time in the area, we have a cleaning and maintenance team in town that helps us address any issues. If you have an emergency, please call 911.
You will be able to self check-in with a door code provided 2 days prior to your arrival. You do not need to check-in at an office or pick up a key. Check-in time is at 4:00pm and check-out time is at 10:00am. We are unfortunately unable to accommodate any early check-ins or late departures. This is to ensure our cleaning crew has ample time to clean and sanitize before and after your stay.

Summary: The Blue Mermaid was a very clean and spacious home and was a great value for our family. It was very convenient with access to the beach, pools and local attractions. It was quiet and well maintained. The hosts, David and Jill were very responsive to our questions. In the words of my Grandson, it deserves 500 stars.

Summary: David and Jill were amazing hosts who communicated in a timely and efficient manner. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that they take pride in their home through the cleanliness and tasteful, modern beach decor which makes for a welcoming space. The Blue Mermaid was well-stocked; the hosts truly thought of it all to make it a comfortable stay for all guests (kids to grandparents to pups). With the beach only a short walk away, we were able to easily break up our fun in the sun and the multiple pools and tropical grounds surrounding The Blue Mermaid were well-maintained. Great communication combined with a relaxing environment, can't get much better than that! We would definitely rebook The Blue Mermaid for a future vacation in Gulf Shores and would recommend to friends and family.

Summary: White sand and clear water. Home offers great beach items and will get you items that need to be replaced. We had nice chairs, new canopy and wagon for our stay! Short walk to beach, plus a separate access where you can drive and park. Home is beautiful, clean and spacious. Nice, comfortable furnishings and mattresses in all rooms. Loved all the decks/porches! Nice griil/smoker! Cold AC. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms. TVs in all but one bedroom. Kitchen: WOW. Spacious. Pantry. Spice Rack full of spices!!!! Ice maker under counter, plus fridge ice maker!! Two coffee makers, ninja blender, nice cookwhere. Absolutely eveything a cook could need. Owners were the best! Quiet neighborhood and only 5 minute drive to Dollar General. Highly recommend this home!

Summary: The neighborhood was just right for us; it's out of the way of the throngs but convenient to everything one could need or want to do with young children or teens. There are restaurants and supplies readily available less than 5 minutes away, as well as only 15-20 minutes to the main area of Gulf Shores. So time on our short stay was efficiently spent essentially at home away from home. Our teen girls absolutely loved being able to safely walk down to the beach and being literally right next to the extra-clean, illuminated pool. Our 9-year old boy enjoyed the decks and streaming his shows to the big TV in the living room. The night-time beach walks under the full moon were also a high point for him. The washer and dryer worked great as well so we left with freshly packed bags having thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Summary: The only thing we found difficult to negotiate were the steep and narrow stairs to access the house. They were a little scary when you were hauling things into or out of the house.
