Negative: Our room was pleasant and the hotel was nice overall BUT on arrival we discovered a problem with the bathroom drainage, the tap wouldn’t turn off and the sink was not draining: it was clear this was an ongoing issue as there were stains in the bathroom floor from water. We let the staff know who sent a young lad to ‘fix’ it - all he did was look - nothing was fixed and the problem remained. We spoke to the manager on duty and he made it clear he would sort something for us although he did not offer any apologies - we weren’t told wjat he could offer what but had imagined maybe a change of room as a minimum, free upgrade or maybe a drink at the bar as way of an apology but nothing materialised. The next day we spoke to a different manager (a lady) who explained nothing could be gone until the following day and she was incredibly sorry - this was the first time any of the staff had actually apologised! but she had not been filled in on our previous concerns. Overall our stay was ok because the location for us was perfect but the attitude of some staff was poor and at one point we felt that actually were blaming us for the rooms issues! For this reason we would not stay here again. I should add that I work in hospitality myself and I know that offering good customer service will attract repeat business.

Positive: I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past twenty years and enjoyed my time here. The car park is large to accommodate the number of rooms in the hotel and and well lit. The check in is on the first floor so if you have mobility issues this maybe a problem. The bar area, lounge and restaurant are very pleasant and lovely places to sit and relax, we didn't eat at the hotel but had breakfast which was excellent. The hotel looks directly over the golf courses and is a two minute walk into the town centre.
Negative: The price of the hotel is expensive and this is slightly disappointing as it cost nearly £500 for 1 night for three people, albeit in two rooms, but it was our choice to pay so we where mindful of the cost.
Summary: Great hotel, in a fantastic location.
